                  Chapter one

“Get my child away from here, pleas get my daughter out!” A woman begged the knight that guarded the Queen’s castle. She kissed the baby’s forehead. The knight lifted his helmet his face sadly determent.

“Worry not Cara, I will,” he said. The women, Cara smiled a relieved smile as she placed her bundle in the arms of the knight.

“Bless you Braydon.” She said gratefully her arms to her hart. He bowed and took her hand, kissing it. Cara pulled away lifting him and wrapping her arms around him. Small tears streamed from her eyes.

“You will always be loved by this family,” she said kissing his cheek as he disappeared down the servant’s pathway. Cara turned and ran up the stone stairs of the burning castle. Everyone was screaming in complete pandemonium. She held up the front of her white dress, the long sleeves and white vial over her dark curls fell around her. She grabbed the shoulders of a man running past her on the stairs. She shook him

“Were is my lady!” Cara demanded frantically. Her fangs glimmering in the far off firelight. He was confused and lost, as was everyone else in the castle.

“The Queen, in her room.” He answered. Cara ran as fast as her feet would take her finally bursting into the winding tower room. A huge golden bed lay in the middle on lush carpet; on every wall was a tall bay window with emerald green currents. At one stood the young Queen.

Her soft face and her sapphire eyes forlorn as small paths of tears ran to her pale lips. She stood looking out the window in her red velvet dress embroider with gold patterns, flickering fire lit reflections.

“My Lady!” Cara cried in sadness and happy release. She looked over her face framed with golden red curls.

“Cara she gasped as she ran over to her and fell in her arms on the bed. She cried smally as I held her smiling a tranquil smile.

“My lady,” she said patting her soft hair. “Your like my daughter in more ways then one,” Cara said comfortingly.

“What’s happening?” she asked threw cries.

“Retribution that is what,” said a cruel voice. The Queen and Cara looked over to the door.

“Soren,” the Queen gasped as she looked at his face bitterly. He stood in a golden armor with a gold sword reflecting his egotistic character.

“You…” was all that could escape Cara’s lips.

“Cara, the demon’s mother, you daughter has quite a few unique qualities.” He said nastily. Car’s eyes widened in terror.

“Don’t you dare go near my daughter,” said a strong voice.

“James don’t,” Cara shouted as her husband’s sword clashed with sires of sparks with Sorens. His body was already weak from defending the defected castle. Cara looked on helplessly as her husband fell, his black blood now a badge staining Soren’s sword.

“No,” she barely breathed under her breath, the seconds after that ticked like hours devouring time. The queen was taken from Cara’s arms despite her struggles. Then crimson ruby joined the onyx on his sword. The queen was gone as well as her love. She felt herself lifted off the ground, Soren’s hand clamped around her neck as the point of his sword rested on her chest.

“Were is she!” he demanded. Cara remained silent, a tranquil look playing her face.

“Were is the girl!” he shouted. He was becoming increasingly enraged. Cara knew he desperately wanted the power her daughter had been granted. She remained peaceful staring down his blood stained blade.

The last thing she thought in this world, good bye my beloved Dorthia.

The last thing she saw, the ruby gold threw her chest.

Hundreds of miles away galloping threw the night, a baby cried.
