Chapter 3

France- May 19th 1830,

That was the first time he saw her any were other than the door. It was night, she was alone as the moon shone overhead. She wore her lacy dress, the moon making her glow. He auburn hair was down and blew with the flowers in the garden, were he was patrolling. She sat on the bench and she was singing. The sweet music she sang flew on the wind and captivated his attention. He listened to the sound of her soprano voice, the up and down sounds of the melody. It was perfect not a flaw in the sound. But as he looked closer he relished, she was crying, silently. Sleet silver tears fell down her face. He wanted to console her but he caught up the pace he had lost.

I had a bit of a rude awakening, I awoke with a throbbing leg looking down at it I saw the bullet wound still steaming, and the led was still lodged in it. I focused and soon the skin spit out the bullet and then reformed about the wound, it left me out of breath, as I closed my eyes and dozed for another moment, then a painless blow to the head, caused me to look up with a start. My coat and hat was on the only table in an all grey steel room. I was sitting a foot away from the table in a steel chair with thick metal bands around my legs and torso; my hands were cuffed behind my back. My hair was falling around me the only color besides my coat in the room. On the other side of the table sat the general who had just struck me. I growled, echoing in the brightly lit room, my eyes adjusting to the white lights lining the walls of the small room.

         “how dare you…” I said.

“shut up,” he yelled sitting down.

“You know it’s an odd thing to watch, you human’s reactions. I merely expressed my anger towards being struck, it’s a predictable reaction.” I said in a taunting voice. Swinging my hair behind me as best I could what with being bound so tightly.

“You’re already in enough trouble and you attitude isn’t helping one bit.” He said angrily. I smiled slyly, my fangs over my lips.

“who said I was trying to help?” I asked. He looked angrier.

“Now it was rude enough interrupting my sleep for the third time in a row, shame on your manners General,” I said pushing him farther.

“you would do well to shut up, you don’t know how in deep you are.” He said angrily.

“You meet with some refugees I believe?” He asked.

“I could have, but I think it slipped my mind.” I said.

“We suspect they might be red fangs we need to know what information you have on them.” He said.

“This is an inviting way you of the corporation ask for information.” I said nodding towards the chair that held me.

“You’re suspected as much as they are,” he said.

“Your logic is ludicrous to say the least, if I was one of them I wouldn’t be so sure of my self would I, if I was one of them I wouldn’t have indeed such a distance, you really have no talent when it comes to reading people.” I said.

“your to smug for your own good,” he said. “Well since your suggesting you know nothing, how about telling me who you are.” He said, his blue eyes searching threw me, thought founding nothing.

“My name is Rose, I’m one of the last in a ancient blood line, and my only relation is my younger brother Rob.” I informed him. He looked shocked. Them he smiled wickedly. There was a short pause as the anger of his expression infected my very core.

“Mark my words and mark them well, if any harm what so ever befalls my brother your life will be the first on the line.” I said menacingly. he looked shocked and leaned his ugly face in closer to mine.

“Is that so?” he asked, “with you hear were I can keep an eye on you your threat is diminished,” he said, but I herd the doubt in his voice. My eyes turned to liquid ice, and sting threw him with the words I spoke.

“Keep thinking that,” I hissed, venom despised as words flooded threw him. My fangs grinded together. I saw the twinge of fear in him as he stood and walked to the steel door. With out a word I watched him go. He took one last look at me. He left and I shied. Letting strands of hair cover my face I thought raucously, Girard pleas are ok.

“wow.. this is cozy,” Girard’s voice rang out threw the spacious white panted loft apartment. There was a couch and a table in the kitchen, as well as a television the living room space.

“Yes we live hear until we can find somewhere else, somewhere better.” said Sara in a small sincere voice.

“so um.. what do we do?” Lilly Ana asked in a small voice.

“We haven’t herd from her, are you sure that she wasn’t captured.” Jacob said a bit of fear in his eyes.

“No way, trust me, Sister has been in far worse situations and she has always come back for me.” Girard said.

“How can you be so confident,” Mike asked.

“She is my sister, I’m all she has and she is all I have, she stops at nothing to keep me safe, that’s just how she is, so I am always sure she will come for me,” he said pointing a thumb to his chest and smiling.

“Aren’t you an energetic little one?" Sara said rubbing his head. She faced him. “You know we haven’t been properly introduced,” she said to him.

“Pleas excuse my manners.” He said, he took her hand and bowed, “my name is Girard Rob Devlin.” He said, Sara smiled and pretended to curtsy.

“a pleasure to meet you,” she said. I smiled and giggled a bit, considering he was about the high of her waist. Mike and Jacob smiled as well. Then Lilly Ana’s phone rang in her pocket. She answered.

“hello? Whom, you… ok?” she said then handed the phone to Girard.

“It’s Solomon asking for Girard.” She said having no clue s to what she said meant.

“Hi Solomon, Sister is looking for you, she wont be happy you know she seemed pretty angry at you.” He warned. Then his face became stricken and then sad and hopeful. He handed the hung up phone to Lilly Ana.

         “sisters been Captured,” he said.

         “oh no” hissed Lilly Ana.

“don’t worry Solomon said hes going to save her.” He said. Lilly Ana looked shocked.

         “but how?” she asked.

“don’t worry Lilly he just wants us to stay put.” He said. “I know he will take care of everything, but I hope sis gets here soon.” He said and lilly ana could tell that a looming sadness was coming over him. She tried to cheer him up. She bent down and put her hand on his shoulder.

“don’t worry Rob your sister will be ok, I’m sure of it, this solonom seems to know what he is doing and roses isn’t going down with out a fight.” She said. She had no idea what false assumptions she was making or what of it was true, but she knew Rose would stop at nothing to get back to Rob.

“why?” saod a voice Lilly Ana had forgotten was there. Sara asked in a strange voice the question.

“What?” Lilly asked. Jacob spoke up in a worried sincer voice.

“hey Sara mike could show the kid around,” he said whith a strange smile on his fave, this exited Girard.

“ok that’s a good idea,” she said. They left the room and Girard waved at Lilly Ana.

“so what did you mean?” Lilly Ana asked Sara.

“Why are you hear?” she asked, “why arnt you turning us in and why are you so confedent in this rose?” she asked.

“well I gess sence I’m a peac maker I cant just turn every vampire I see into the Suppression officers can i?” she replyed.

“wouldn’t be much of a peacemaker if you did,” Sara said in a deep voice. They sat down at the rectangal table in the small kitchen.

“but why do you trust us so?” sara asked her.

“should I not?” Lilly Ana asked pulling her Jacket around her confused but a bit sarcastic.

“we are simpaly a small broken family who want a better life in a place were we don’t have to run anymore.” Sara said looking down sadly. That brought a gloomy look to Lilly Ana as well.

“Well I know what that feels like.” She said, that coused Sara to look up strangly.

         “I wonder?” she asked herselfe.

         “what is it?” Lilly asked.

“like I said all we want is a place we can live in peace, in the vampire zone we were run out of many places, we hoped to find a better life in the human world.” She recapped.

“is there any way I can help I would be glad to as a peace make for the corperation.” Lilly Ana assured her.

“perhaps if you could just lety rthe Corperation know that that is all we want, and we would gladly live in any conditions they command, we just want to stop running. We are so tiered of it.” She said. I nodded and smiled.

“Sara I would be more than happy to speek on your behaf. I hope I can do all I can for you,” I said extending my hand. “is it a deal?” she asked. Sara looked Puzzled then happy and smiled. She placed her hand in Lilly Ana’s.

“yes, thank you Miss. Jolet.” She said.

I sat there almost asleep but not yet able to get there, the table was gone, and I was alone in the room in the center, my things somewhere behind me. The lights began to annoy me; I squinted my eyes, and then went to closing them. Still not sure how I was going to get out of here, I shied hoping that Girard was all right. I knew so far he hadn’t been harmed.

When I got my fangs on Solomon… then I herd the heavy door opening, a man, about 20 walked in, he wore a blue blazer and blue pants, his blond hair was controlled yet frayed. I kept my expression hard and stern. Then as he tensions walked over to me his face broke out into a smile.

“Oh my darling rosette I am filled with nothing but the deepest resentment,” he said. In a fake whinny voice.

“I’m going to kill you slowly Solomon.” I groaned. “I knew it was a point black to disaster letting you be my passer.” I growled. Passers were people or vampires who illegally helped vampires out of the Vampire zone on rare occasion and he was the worst in the history of the world.

“OH now I told you there was no set in stone safety I could offer you, so pleas you can’t be that upset with me?” he said.

         “try me!” I threatened.

“Oh pleas forgive me it was an unfortunate turn of events I assure you.”

“Me chained to a chair is more than an unfortunate event, why don’t you switch positions with me and wait to be put to death then talk to me about in unfortunate events.” I said growling as he worked the locks and finally released me.

“I’ll deal with you when I have the time, right now we need to get out of here,” I said walking to the table behind me and putting on my coat, pulling over my vest and black pants, placing my hat on my head, thankful for the shield. Solomon handed me my orange glasses that I tucked away.

“Lets go Madam,” he said as I put my hair back into the fountain like bun, spiking out from under my hat. We walked out of the door as the alarms began to go off, but only a few officers came out.

“were is every one?” I asked running down the florescent-lit halls, Solomon at my sided.

“Threes some commotion on the east side, I don’t know much in the midst of helping you I didn’t get the urgent memo.” He said smiling his cat like smile. He stopped and I stopped looking at him angrily. He looked at the screen of his phone, then handed it to me. “you had better take this,” he said. I placed the phone to my ear. It was a messege, a vpoice messege

“Rose we need your help, the officers are hear and I cant talk any sence into them, we cant find Grard, I am so sorry, we need your help they think there reds and these officers are not obaying the laws of the companie, they wont listen to me help.” Lilly Ana’s despret voice made me clanch my fists.

“Girards in troble, Solomon, I need you to go and Find him, and Keep Lilly ana safe, pleas, I will be there as soon as I can.” I said darkly. He frowned and nodded.

“yes ma’am, be carefull,” he said, with that we devided, and I ran on a path I thought I would never have to go again.
