Kaitlyn arrived at Joel’s house and knocked on his door. At first no one answered but just as she was about to walk away Joel opened the door.
"Kate??" he said to the back of her head, she turned back around. "Hey come in."
"Thanks” she smiled sweetly at him. Joel opened the door wide enough for her to walk through.
"What are you doing here?" He seemed very surprised.
"Well i heard you were sick, so i wanted to see if you were ok. Well obviously your not ok because your sick but i mean well just to see if it wasn’t that bad. haha" some words crashed into each other and others you could hardly understand because she was talking so fast, she sounded very...awkward.
"Oh well as you can see I’m perfec...perfec...per..."He held one hand to his mouth the other her put up to say one second, then, he bolted. A couple minutes later he re appeared at the top of his stairs not looking to good
"Ooh how you feeling?" Kaitlyn asked looking worried
"Not to good" he replied. He pointed to the coach and gestured for her to sit. She did, he sat beside her.
"I’m curious to see your room." She asked glancing around the room she was in. It was big, very big. There was plasma hanging on the opposite wall 2 other 3 person couches. They were leather; black, very nice they looked almost brand new. Kaitlyn was halfway through sussing out the room when she noticed Joel was leaving she got up and followed.
He took her to a door at the end of the corridor upstairs. He opened the door to a room almost as big as the one downstairs, there was a blue wall that looked like it had been sponged on the rest were white. A double bed sat in the middle of that wall. A black quilt and white sheets (not matching the rest of the room at all), the roof covered in surfing posters, a desk opposite the bed on it a 25” LCD computer screen a bookshelf down the side covered in books from Stephen king to J.R Tolkien, a CD and DVD rack down the other side bursting with a big variety of different artists(some Kaitlyn hadn’t even heard of), he had floorboards with a blue carpet in the middle. The wall across from the front door was all window and so was the area on the desks wall just above it.
“Wow. This is your room?? Its huge. I love it, can we trade???” Kaitlyn started walking across the room to the window wall. She looked out. From exactly were she was standing she could see her house, her window, and now right into her room. She quickly walked away.
“Im feeling better now, so much better, haha no urge to chuck” Joel grabbed a few mints ate them, then had a glass of water. He walked over to Kaitlyn who was now sitting on his bed and sat beside her, he put his arm around her waist and with his free hand grabbed hers, she didn’t know what to think then all of a sudden she felt his lips against hers, at first she went with it, but then for some reason she thought of matt and pushed Joel away.
“What? What did I do?” he asked very confused. His arm still around her, hand still in hand.
“Nothing, I, I mean I just, I don’t know.” She really didn’t. that was odd. Why did I stop. I mean so what about matt. He should of told me he liked me. There’s no reason I cant do this. He doesn’t even know I know he likes me. Then why cant I just kiss joel, grr this is so annoying. OMG what if I-
suddenly Joel kissed her again, only this time his hand had moved from hers to her other wrist his arm had come from around her and grabbed the other wrist, he was pinning her on the bed and lying on top of her.
“Joel what are you doing? Please get off!” he was kissing her more and more. Slowly moving from the lips to the neck to the collarbone
“I don’t want to hurt you Kate. I want you and I hoped you’d want me too.”
“If you don’t want to hurt me than get off because right now, you are” he let go and she sat up. “I do like you and all Joel, its just, I don’t know you, like we only just met you know. I think I should go home” she got up and left.
On the way back she couldn’t stop thinking over and over, why did I pull away the first time? She decided to stop by Amy’s and see if she had left yet.
Kaitlyn got to Amy’s and knocked on the door, Amy answered it in her P.J’s she looked like she had been crying, she took one look at Kaitlyn said “Sorry” in a weepy voice than closed the door again, Kaitlyn knocked several times after that. But there was no answer so she gave up and walked back to school.
BACK AT SCHOOL
Mrs. Rivers was writing stuff on the board, she was in one of those bad moods where that’s all she was going to do for a whole double.
“Are you really ok Kate. You really seem upset ever since last Saturday.”silence “Come on I know when somethings up, im your best friend.”
“Yeh I know, I just don’t really want to talk about it at the moment ok?”
“Well your going to have to tell me eventually”
“I guess”
“well come on then-“
“My parents are, umm, there getting divorced.”
“Ohh kate, how are you about it all?”
“I’m fine. I knew it was coming.”
“Then why do you seem so upset??”
“Well. My mum wants me to live with her.”
“Don’t you want to??”
“Its not that, its just my dad owns the house we live in now and mum wants to move to the city. It means I have to go to a new school and I wont be able to see you or Amy, well not as much as I want to, you know. I don’t want to go, and my mum doesn’t seem to care at all.”
“Oh. Well that sucks, “
“you said it.”
