"I'm a bitch."
If there's one thing I like about myself, it's how straight forward I am. They had wanted me to describe myself, and I had. Of course, it was expected that I go into great detail, like everyone else. But I didn't want to be here, and I wanted it to be known.
“Is there anything else you can tell us? What are your hobbies? Do you play any sports? Any pets?”
Rolling my eyes, I continue, “I like movies, long walks on the beach, and clichés. I’m a competitive chess player and own a chinchilla named Tylenol.”
I notice a faint smile creep up on a face in the corner. Another girl chuckles. Even I’m impressed by how quickly I came up with that. It truly is a talent.
What’s-her-name is pissed now. Her eyes bore deep into my soul. Well, not really, but it sounds poetic. Maybe.
It takes me a minute to realize we’ve moved on to someone else. She looks boring.
Actually, only one of these girls looks even semi-interesting. Her hair is red, choppy, and covers one eye. She’s wearing skinny jeans and a teenage mutant ninja turtles t-shirt. Colorful bracelets cover both wrists. Her shoes are camouflage flats and her socks are orange and white. Snakebites pierce her bottom lip and her black eyeliner is as dark as can be.
Upon further scrutiny, I notice that she’s sucking in her stomach. I can tell from the way she’s breathing. She’s slouching in the plastic chair and silently tapping her foot on the floor. I’m not for sure, but I think what she’s staring at is a stain of some sort on the carpet. She doesn’t want to be here either.
