When Darkness Falls [11]
|
Sorry the last chapter was stupid. It had no point, so..my bad.
The leaves rustled quietly as Owen looked up at the brightly lit house. He used to live in a house too, until he met Jordan. Chuckling, he remembered how it all happened...
"Jordan, I know we've only known eachother for a month, but there's something very different about you. I feel drawn to you like I've never felt before. Will you marry me?"
"Owen, I'm too young to get married..but yes. Someday I will. I promise."
Owen had made his move that night. As she slept, he crept into her room. He wanted to make sure that she wouldn't ever want to leave him, wouldn't ever die, either. The only way she could die was if..well. You'll understand later. As gently as he knew how, Owen slid his teeth into Jordan's neck, piercing the skin. He drew on her blood, and stopped, letting her live. She sighed and slept on.
The next morning, Owen woke up to a shriek as Jordan discovered blood all over her pillow and body. She ran into the bathroom and got in the shower, sure it was her imagination. As she stepped out, wrapped in her towel, she saw Owen sitting on her bed, watching her. "Owen! Don't look at me! What the hell is going on?"
"Jordan..there's something you need to know," Owen sighed averting his eyes. "You woke up in a pool of blood. It wasn't a dream, dear. Feel the left side of your neck." Jordan reached up and let her fingers brush the wounds. It hurt.
"Owen, what is going on? What happened to me? Why are you in my bed? We didn't..you know..I know we didn't."
"We didn't. Look, Jordie, I have a secret to tell you. I'm a vampire.."
"I like vampires! Oh wait. Are you in a cult? I don't like cults."
"No, not a cult. Real. I'm a vampire. And now you are too.."
"I don't believe you. Get out. We're done."
Owen sighed. Jordan had understood a few days later. Now she was his queen, his bride. How he loved her. But in the past few days, ever since Kiama (his nickname for Anistazia) had brought that boy around. What was his name? Mitchel? No, it was different. Mykal. That was it. Now there was a change in Jordan's attitude. She was distant, and deep in thought more often. Owen wasn't sure he liked the ways things were going right then. He would kill the boy, but vampires were a dying breed. It was tough to find a person strong enough to handle things this was. Sighing, Owen turned and walked away.
