The stars seemed so much closer that night. Mykal was waiting on the edge of his cliff, but for what, he wasn't sure. There was a soft breeze, and he heard Anistazia approaching him from out of nowhere. "Mykal. We have to go. Everyone is scared for you. Can you tell me what happened yesterday that made you run off like this?"

"Apparently, you already know that. Something bit me and then I just got weird. How did you know that I was listening in on you guys? Did Esme and Zach feel me, too? Oh, and Zach likes Esme. He had a dream about her that I watched last night. And what do you mean, 'certain foods'? There's nothing wrong with my stomach..."

Anistazia sighed. "Mykal, I thought you already knew. Dude, you're a freakin vampire. So am I. Isn't it amazing? You can hear and see and smell and feel thoughts and just, you know, live more than you ever did before. Wait..did you say you watched Zach's dream? Thats..unusual."

"I'm not a vampire, they're not real. Fake, made up. No such thing. I just...must be sick."

"I knew you wouldn't believe me. Come on, we're gonna go meet Jordan."

"I don't know a Jordan. Who's that?"

"Jordan is a vampire. Actually, she's the vampire queen. That isn't as cheesey as it sounds, though. It's a really important job that must be done."

"Is there a vampire king?"

"Yeah, his name's Owen. But I'm not allowed to tell you about him. If Jordan wants to, she can."

"Why can't you tell me?"

"Not allowed. Just wait until we talk to Jordan, you'll like her. And she can explain things to you a lot better than I can."

"Do they have McDonald's in Vampireland? I'm starving."
