It was dark, and the silence was deafening. Mykal had never reappeared, and everyone was really starting to fear for him. Anistazia, though, knew by now exactly what had happened. Vampires had been around a lot lately. Anistazia had been the only resident vampire in the area for a year and a half. Well, that was yesterday. Obviously, things were changing. Anistazia knew how to find Mykal, it was easy. But she would have to wait until everyone else was sleeping. Zach was passed out, he was so scared he couldn't take it anymore. He was so close to his little brother, they could almost read eachother's minds. "Heh. I will be able to read Mykal's mind, if he completes the ceremony with me..."
Mykal shivered. The wind was fierce, and sitting on the edge of this cliff was nerve racking. He had completely lost his sense of time, his senses were overloading. There was so much smell, so many sounds, and seeing so much more than he ever had before...it was amazing. But it was scary, too. He was hearing cell phone conversations from people driving past him, sometimes hearing things he would've rather not known. His dad was having an affair, for example. Mykal could see some fish swimming in the ocean below, and they were deep down in there. He could smell the garbage dump eighteen miles away. Mykal could also hear..who was that? What was that, really. Was it..a thought? Yes! He could hear thoughts, if he listened hard enough..Esme. She was thinking really loud. She was screaming for him to come home. Desperation was leaking from her mind into his. He listened for Zach, and almost fell (literally) right into his dream. Mykal could halfway see it, but only if he unfocused his eyes...wow. Zach really liked Esme. Yuck. Oh, and there was someone else..Anistazia. Yeah, it was her. "Hi, Mykal. I can feel you listening to my thoughts. I know you're scared. Don't come home yet. You're hungry, aren't you? Yes, I can feel that too. I'll have to teach you about the certain foods you can eat. Where are you? Ah, I see. Stay."
