Justin’s pov

“Hey, have you seen Jackie? I can’t find her.” I asked Zack as I entered the kitchen.

“Um, ya. She said she was going for a run.” Zack answered, not looking up from the book he was reading.

“And she didn’t ask?” I said, with a confused look.

“Um…no. why would she ask?” Zack finally looked up.

“I don’t know? I just thought she would. I would have liked it if she did.” I said as I sat down.

“You know Justin. Jackie’s a big girl. She can take care of her self. She dosint all ways need her older brother to protect her.” Zack said as he got up and walked back to his room.

I rolled my eyes. It’s not a sin to be protective.

I was about to go one with the small thoughts, when the phone rang. I looked over and grabbed the large house phone that was resting on the counter.

“Hello?” I asked.

“Hey, is this Justin?” a familiar but unfamiliar voice came from the ether end.

“Um, ya? Who is this?”

“Um, this is Ronnie. You said to call when I got into town.” My brain finally clicked.

“Oh hey man! What’s up?”

I guess I should tell you that Ronnie DID come visit Jackie when she was in the hospital. He staid for all most 3 weeks. I never thought a guy could love a girl that much. Especially my sister. So anyways…when he finally had to go home, he wanted me to call him if any thing changes and that he would be looking forward to that call.

And so when the day had come that something did change I called Ronnie first thing. And ever since we’ve been planning this surprise.

“To tell you the truth? I’m dyeing. I don’t think I can wait any longer. Justin I need to see her.” Ronnie sounded desperate.

“I understand. Hey look she went for a run. If you want you can go ahead and come over and thin we can surprise her when she gets home.” I smiled.

“She went running?” Ronnie asked.

“Yeah.”

“Do you know were?” I could tell Ronnie was starting to get exited.

“Um, probably down Mayberry St. that’s her favorite place to run. Why?” I said, waiting for him to reply.

“I have a great idea.”
