Pleasanton, California...

Nick sat on his bed, slightly drunk, staring at the wall. He felt himself cold and hollow. His eyes were glazed, long lost in deep, dark, thoughts. He just wanted to run away, far far away. He wanted to see if there was such a thing as a peaceful place. He felt like tearing his heart out, he felt like ending it all. He thought about it for a moment. Then he lied down, and smothered his face into his pillow, trying to suffocate himself. After a few minutes of struggling, he stopped. Give life another chance, a voice inside him said. With a heavy sigh, Nick smashed his face into his pillow, letting himself be taken by his thoughts. "Thank God it's the weekend," he told himself. 

Nick woke up in the morning with a throbbing headache. "Fuck, I hate hangovers," he groaned. He took a shower, trying to rub it off. He went downstairs and sat in front of the computer. He went on MySpace and checked his inbox. To his astonishment, there was a message from Jacklyn. He opened the link and read it: "Hey, wuts up? I'm Jacklyn, if u didnt no (lol). So...yea". Nick chuckled, he loved reading people type their train of thought. It was always funny...he did it too. He replied to her message, "Hey. Nm....I'm just feeling a little down...o well, at least I'm going on a snowboarding trip in a few weeks (winter break). Wut u doin for winter break?". A few minutes later, Nick had another message from Jacklyn: "Oh that's cool. I've always wanted to go snowboarding, but I've never been able to. So y u upset?" Nick sighed, and replied: "Just drama...my gf broke up with me the other day....and some old ghosts r coming back to haunt me". A few minutes later, another message from Jacklyn: "What do you mean? Hey, if u want to talk on AIM (bc it's faster lol), my AIM SN is xXSILLY_AngelXx. Im online rite now". Nick logged into AIM.

KiLLa_MonSTA: Hey Jacklyn. It's Nick.
xXSILLY_AngelXx: Hey, wuts up?
KiLLa_MonSTA: nm. U said u wanted 2 ask sumtin?
xXSILLY_AngelXx: oh, yea. Wut u mean by ghosts coming back 2 haunt u?
KiLLa_MonSTA: oh..just some old memories are coming back that id rather forget...
xXSILLY_AngelXx: ah...

She's a nice girl. Will's lucky to have her, Nick thought to himself. He looked at the clock, it was 3 pm. He chuckled to himself, "Wow, first I sleep in late and then I spend 3 hours on the computer." He took a deep sigh, and looked to his left, Snoopy was giving him a sly look. "What?" Nick said. Snoopy tilted his head and gave him another look. "She's just a friend that's fun to talk to," Nick said. Snoopy still stared. "No, I'm not trying to fool anyone!" Nick raised his voice. Snoopy didn't move. "Fine, whatever, I don't have to explain myself." Nick got up and stormed out the room to the backyard. He took a deep breath, and looked at the sky. Who are you trying to fool? Nick heard a voice in his say. Nick shook his head and walked out his yard, and went for a walk through the neighborhood.

Millville, New Jersey...

Jacklyn and Will were in Jacklyn's room, the TV the only light in the room. Jacklyn was leaning against Will, Will wrapping his arms around her. She looked up at him and smiled. He smiled back and gently kissed her. Jacklyn sighed softly, everything felt so wonderful when she was with Will. She felt safe, wanted, and loved. Everything was so great for her. Will is the best thing that ever happened to me, she thought to herself. Suddenly, another thought slipped into her head, I wonder what Nick's doing...
