Accidental Love [Chapter 37]

Chapter 37
Sophie grabbed her hoodie and put it on quickly while pounding down the stairs hurriedly. It was 2 and she was still in her house when she was supposed to be cuddled up next to Logan watching a movie. She had fallen asleep around 7 in the morning and woke up around 1:45.
“Shit, shit, shit,” She muttered under her breath, “He’s going to be mad.” Grabbing her keys and cell, she silently thanked her good luck for his house being down the block. “Bye, Mom,” She yelled as she swung open her door and started running towards his house.
Logan
Logan ran a hand through his hair distractedly and sighed heavily. “Why isn’t she here?” He said impatiently, thinking out loud. “Maybe she wanted to break up early,” He said out loud again, with his heart sinking lower with each passing minute. His heart quickly started beating faster as he started saying frantically, “What if something happened to her?” He groaned out loud and threw his pillow against the wall. Then surely enough he heard the familiar doorbell going off. He pounded down the stairs, and pulled opened the door with force. A startled Sophie who was casually leaning against the door to catch her breath fell forwards into Logan’s arms.
“Sorry,” They both said sheepishly with Sophie turning a tomato red. “Um, yeah,” She said awkwardly pulling down her shirt and running her fingers through her hair. Logan’s face softened as he said gently, “You look beautiful, leave it,” Sophie sighed as she gave up trying to fix her windblown hair and wrapped her arms around his neck staring up into his eyes. “I’m sorry for not telling you,” She said sincerely. Logan sighed and said tiredly, “I know, I overreacted, I’m sorry too.” Logan leaned down and gave her a quick peck on her lips before pulling her into the living room.
As she entered the living room, Sophie burst into laughter with Logan smirking at her side. A huge bowl of popcorn lay on the table. Logan wrapped his arms around Sophie’s waist and stood behind her. Moving his lips to her ear, he whispered, “Extra butter just for you.” Sophie blushed furiously before smacking his arm gently. “Which movie are we watching?” She asked, trying to get rid of her flaming cheeks. Logan stretched and said, “I brought three.” Sophie looked at him curiously. “Wasn’t sure which one you’d like,” He said sheepishly. “Well which ones are they?” Sophie asked, smiling. “Umm, I got The Notebook, Titanic, and 10 Things I hate about you,” He said thoughtfully. Sophie’s face brightened up as he said the last movie. Logan laughed and said teasingly, “That will be it then.” “Shut up,” Sophie retorted, smiling. “Make yourself comfortable, and I’ll start it,” Logan said, grinning.
Sophie sat on the couch and brought her knees up to her chest while taking a handful of the warm popcorn. Popping a couple of them into her mouth, she watched as Logan’s hair fell in front of his face and absorbed his every movement. Logan stood up, turned around, and walked towards her. Sophie kept her eyes on him and watched his face change from happy to puzzlement. “Why are you staring at me?” He asked, patting his lap to motion to her to sit on it. “Because,” Sophie started as she crawled across the couch and made herself comfortable on Logan’s lap, “Because I want to remember you forever.” He wrapped his arms around her as she laid her head against his chest and said, “You will remember me forever.” Sophie nodded absentmindedly glancing at the screen. Suddenly, she looked back at Logan who was staring back at her intently. She immediately dropped her eyes and blushed. He continued staring at her and brushing his thumb against her arm. Finally finding her voice, she managed to say, “You’re going to move on, right? Promise me.” Logan frowned instantly and looked down avoiding her eyes. Sophie tilted his head up and stared at him. “Please, Logan, tell me you won’t wait for me,” She said, pleadingly. “Watch the movie, you’re missing it,” He said avoiding her question completely. Sophie’s face pulled into a mask of annoyance as she moved off of his lap to the end of the couch where she continued to watch the movie in silence.
