Accidental Love [Chapter 31]

Chapter 31
My cell phone rang at the exact same moment I was wondering how I was going to break the news to him.
Snapping out of my trance, I glanced down at the screen and saw Logan’s name. I argued with myself. Should I pick up or let it go to voicemail?
I sighed as I continued to let it ring. Staring out of the window, the ringing abruptly stopped causing silence to envelop me again. I buried my face in my pillow and sobbed with no intention to ever stop.
I must have fallen asleep because I was awakened a couple of hours later to the ringing of my cell phone once again. Glancing at the screen, I saw it was Logan. Again.
I realized I couldn’t ignore him forever, and with that I picked up the call.
“Hi.”
“Hey,” Logan said, in his dreamy voice, “How are you doing?”
Sophie sighed, “Fine, I guess, just thinking,”
“Thinking about…?” Logan prompted.
Sophie’s breath caught and she said hastily, “Nothing really, I’ll tell you when I think it’s the right time.”
Why didn’t you pick up my call earlier? I wanted to take you out for ice-cream,” Logan said teasingly, switching the subject.
“Oh, I must’ve been sleeping,” Sophie replied, swallowing the lump in her throat that she usually got when she lied.
“Oh,” Logan said understandingly, “That’s good, you need rest. Are you up for ice-cream? I totally understand if you’re not, I just wanted to give you something that would put a smile on your face.”
“You’ve already given me something that puts a smile on my face,” Sophie replied smiling, “You.”
Logan snorted and said jokingly, “Oh please, don’t be so corny.”
Sophie chuckled and grew serious, “I’m fine though, thanks for offering,”
“Oh okay,” Logan replied, disappointed although miserably failing to hide it, “Some other time then.”
It was silent for a minute before Logan spoke.
“You get a deal you know, boyfriend plus best friend, two in one,” He teased. He grew serious and added, “Meaning, I’m here if you want to talk whenever.”
Sophie smirked and shook her head. Feeling idiotic, she remembered he couldn’t see her and said, “No, I’m fine; I’m feeling better with you calling me a million times a day,”
“Sorry,” Logan replied sheepishly. He believed her answer and said, “I’ll stop by in front of your house to pick you up tomorrow—’’
Sophie quickly cut him off and replied, “No, its fine, my dad’s driving me tomorrow, don’t worry about it,”
“Oh,” Logan replied hurt, “I guess, I’ll talk to you later then… I love you, bye.”
“Love you too,” Sophie quietly replied. She flipped her cell closed as she stared at it.
How long do I have to lie to him?
Sophie sighed, got up off her feet, and removed her computer from its status of Stand By. She double clicked on her journal, and clicked again on ‘New Document’.
Sitting at her computer, she began typing away,
Dear Journal,
I thought nothing would get worse than Austin’s death but how wrong was I. Just to bring my world come crashing down more, my parents have decided to move. Where? Who knows? I am too angry to ask. I have not told Logan yet… I don’t know how to break it to him. Not only am I leaving, but his best friend too. He would become a living corpse, I know it, and the sad thing is so will I. He’s become all I have left this past week. I don’t want to tell him… I want to keep whatever time we have left with each other as normal as possible. I don’t want to see tears drop from his eyes, ever. I’m going to miss burying my head in his chest and inhaling his sweet scent, I’m going to miss his hair-flip thing, and I’ll miss the way he says he loves me. How many people are going to get snatched away from me? Till I have none? Well, after him, that is exactly how it’s going to be. I won’t have any left. I want to tear my heart out and give it to him, that way at least I won’t have shards… he’ll have the whole thing. After Austin left, I was broken. After I leave Logan, I’ll be completely destroyed. I’m never going to tell Logan, never. It’ll be horrific for both of us.
Yours in need of strength,
Sophie
She saved her journal, and put her computer once more on stand by. The last thing she remembered was her head hitting the pillow and seeing the broken red glass pieces reflecting off the moonlight that flooded through her bedroom window.
[[Hopefully this is longer than the previous chapter...I have no idea. If you haven't already done so, vote on the poll on my profile. Here are the results so far. Drama-4, Romance-6, Horror-5, and Mystery/Suspense-7. It's up to you if you want to change it. Oh and of course, I'll incorporate the other genre's but it'll be focused on the one with the most votes. Thanks for reading.]]
