Chapter 27
It was nearing 10 at night, and Logan was using Sophie’s computer. He was about to shut it down when he noticed a folder labeled ‘Sophie’s journal. KEEP OUT.’
Logan chuckled, and then looked behind him to check if she was still in the bathroom. He heard the shower running so he thought it was safe enough.
He double-clicked on it and saw dozens of documents. One of them caught his eye; it said ‘Geez, why the hell did I have to have such a hot best friend?!’ He noticed the date, and it was from 3 weeks ago. When she was still with Austin.
He smirked and proceeded into opening it.
Dear Journal, it read,
Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I’m going to kill myself if I have to keep living this lie. Fine, you know what? I admit it. I’M IN LOVE WITH LOGAN. Yeah, the best friend I’ve had since I was a kid. But sheesh, who would have ever thought he’d turn into a mega-hottie? I know, I know, it’s not fair to Austin that I have feelings for another guy but damn, Logan is so sweet. The way he gets jealous of his best friend being taken away is too cute for words. We aren’t talking right now, he’s too mad at me because I judged Stacie ‘without knowing her’. Oh please, I’ve known her my whole life, I’ve been playing volleyball with her since forever, and I think I know by now how she acts. Anyways, this entry isn’t about her. It’s about him. I can’t describe how I feel…felt… when Logan is/was around me. I felt so happy, so content, and his smile seems to make all of my problems vanish away. He has a SEXY ass voice. Not to mention his hair. Oh god. When he does that flippy-thingy with his hair, my heart melts. Fuck you, Logan. For being so incredibly---
“HEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!” Sophie shouted from behind him.
He gulped. Busted.
“Reading?” He said meekly. Sophie reached around him, her hair dripping wet from her shower. She was wearing her black skull pajamas. She snatched the mouse from his hands and clicked the red X in the corner of the screen. Logan smelled her hair.
Strawberry. Sophie turned her head so she was now face to face with Logan, who was sitting in her chair, and she said angrily, “THAT, what you were so ‘innocently’ reading is my PRIVATE journal. Notice it said ‘Keep Out’?”
She turned her face back towards the screen, the light illuminating her face, causing her to look more beautiful than usual. Her jaw was clenched, and Logan knew she was upset.
“I’m sorry,” He whispered seductively into her ear. Sophie shivered and glared at him.
He knows all my weak spots now, she thought miserably.
The screen turned black and Sophie stomped away from him. She stood near the window looking out at the moon.
“Sophieee,” Logan pleaded. She didn’t reply. He walked over there and wrapped his arms around her waist and softly kissed her neck. She pulled away slightly.
“I won’t do it again.” Logan promised. Sophie looked at him.
Logan did his hair-flip thing that she found so irresistible and winked.
Sophie broke into a grin and playfully smacked his chest.
“I’m going to kill you one day,” She said, glaring at him.
“Ha-ha very funny, let’s get to bed.”
Sophie stopped and looked at Logan curiously.
He looked clueless. “What?”
“OH. NO, NO, NOT THAT WAY, GEEZ, I’M SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR, RELAX. I WOULD NEVER.” Logan said defensively.
“You are so NOT sleeping on the floor, come on, my bed is big enough for the both of us.”
She pulled him onto the bed and flipped off the lights.
“And…you can’t rape the willing,” Sophie teased.
“Oh really?” He whispered. “Mhm.” Sophie replied, already sleeping.
He held her until he fell asleep as well.
[[Alright, so you know how stories always have to have that one chapter where it goes off track and has to lighten the mood? This is it. I don’t want to depress you guys, ha; you’ll have plenty of time for that in the future. Enjoy their happy moments while you can because it’s going to get ugly.]]

Mmm, hints of sexual tension towards the end. Cliche, and already done too much in the past, and this short story is likeable, once again. Okay, so that's 3 down and so far I've only been right about one. That's okay, we all make mistakes. I'm not sure, I like this. And I shouldn't, because it no where near deserves the score it has when there are far more original and creative out there. The only thing that made it bad - for me - was that it was just a different way of telling an old story that's happened to virtually everyone and was written by nearly everyone, that's to be expected I suppose. You can't do anything original these days. |
