Chapter 15
“Logan, hold the fuck on!” Stacie called out in front of her pissed. Logan was walking, no actually; make that running through the streets ever since he left the lockers in school.
Logan stopped abruptly in his tracks. Stacie ran the rest of the way up to him.
“What’s the…” She said panting, “…Purpose of us… walking together…if you…” She swallowed, “IF YOU CHOOSE TO RUN.”
Logan glared straight ahead not meeting her eyes. “Sorry,” He said through clenched teeth.
“My ass, you’re sorry.” Stacie said sarcastically.
Logan looked down at her still pissed.
“Listen, you just came to this school, so you don’t know that Austin and I aren’t exactly the best of buddies okay? And quite frankly, I don’t appreciate him being so close and all ‘cuddly’ with my best friend,” He took a breath and dared to say the next words, “Who was my ex.”
Stacie blinked, surprised. She regained herself.
“The way you’re acting, someone would think you still like her.” She muttered as she walked passed him.
“And so what if I do?” Stacie thought she heard him say. She turned around and yelled, “WHAT?” since she was out of hearing range now.
He just stared at her and shook his head hard. She continued walking, still wondering.
Once Logan was sure she was out of earshot, he confirmed her suspicions and repeated, whispering,
“So what if I do?”
Sophie and Austin
“Sophie, are you alright?” Austin asked, alarmed. She hadn’t said anything ever since they had walked away from the lockers.
She snapped out of her day-dream or whatever it was that was bothering her and replied,
“I’m f-fine,” She forced a smile of her face and said, “Perfectly fine.”
Austin didn’t quite believe her but chose not to ask further questions.
“Good.” He said softly as he drew her near. He leaned down to kiss her lightly.
Sophie closed her eyes and just enjoyed the moment.
Though she couldn’t get out of her head…those flitting images of Logan and Stacie walking down the hallways together.
[Sorry, it’s so short! I have dozens of books to finish, not to mention essays. More up later. Up Next: Logan and Austin have had their mini-confrontation, but what about Stacie and Sophie? ;D]
