Chapter 11
Logan
Stacie walked into the room and looked at him, concerned.
“Logan, what the hell—oh my god, are you okay?!?” She said half yelling. She rushed over to him.
She examined his knuckles closely and looked into Logan’s eyes.
“We need to get this cleaned up, where do you normally put the first aid kit?” She asked.
“Under the bed.” He mumbled.
She looked under the bed and pulled it out. Pulling it open, she took out cotton and rubbing alcohol. She drenched the cotton ball into the alcohol and warned him,
“This may sting.”
She slowly dabbed it on over all of his knuckles. He winced twice and grimaced.
I’ve been through much more pain than that, he thought. She wrapped his hand up in a cloth really tight so the blood flow would eventually stop.
“All done.” Stacie said softly. She looked at the damage. His knuckles were all peeled and you could see the red flesh underneath.
Tilting his chin up so he would look at her she questioned,
“What was all that about?”
“Let’s go continue the movie.” He replied hastily ignoring her question. He scrambled up from the floor and walked towards the living room.
Stacie sighed and picked herself up off the floor and slowly trudged after him.
As they were 10 minutes back into the movie, Stacie moved over and snuggled with Logan.
“I’m sure Sophie won’t mind right?” She whispered into his ear.
“No.” He swallowed hard, “We’re over.”
“Is that what you were hurting yourself over?”
He nodded. He held back tears.
“Aw, Logan, don’t, she isn’t---,” She stopped and corrected herself, “no one is worth it.”
Logan stared into the screen blankly.
He moved awkwardly and wrapped his arm around her.
She smiled content.
He swallowed, trying to wash away that guilty feeling.
She is, he thought, but I have to move on. I’ll get over her right?
...right?
Sophie
Sophie heard a scream coming from behind her. It sounded like it came from Logan’s house.
Austin wrapped his arms around her protectively.
“What was that?” She whispered.
“I don’t know…” He said, scanning the houses for any hurt person.
Sophie shuddered. They sounded as if they were in pain.
“Hey, I want to see a smile on your pretty face okay? It was probably someone beating up their younger brother, don’t worry about it.” He joked.
“Ha-ha.” Sophie said grinning.
She buried her face in his chest. She breathed in and smelled something really good.
“Armani code?” She asked, laughing.
“Psh, gotta smell good for the lady, you know?” He said with a wink.
Sophie smiled and stood on her tippy-toes to plant a kiss on his lips.
“I’m really glad you asked me out, Log— ’’
Sophie froze. She looked at Austin’s face to see if he had heard but he seemed distracted.
She breathed a sigh of relief.
“Huh?” He asked clueless.
“I’m glad you asked me out, Austin.” She said carefully.
He smiled. “Come on, I’ll walk you to the door.”
Sophie yelled at herself as she walked besides him,
I didn’t mean to almost say Logan, it slipped.
Right?
[[So I’m reading your comments, and all of you have such happy endings and everything works out! But you know me better than that. I don’t believe in happy endings. ;D BUT I’LL TRY AND DO SOMETHING FOR YOU GUYS, HAPPY? :] But out of curiosity, how many of you are for Logan or for Austin?]]

so, actually, i would vote neither...hehe...Logan never seems to have a different emotion than pain or love...would ever feel a little bit of betrayal that sophie "used" him, and messed with his head? It's irrational but hey, apparently he's in love. And the chapter said that he WANTED to scream BUT his heart was caged...so then did he actually scream? i may have to reread that but if not, how did sophie/austin hear...anything? |
