After I left the voicemail on Simone's cellphone, she would smile when she passed me at school. It was a start, I guess.

The following month I went for a follow up at the hospital. I went to the counter and signed my name in. The girl was turned aroun checking files and turned around. It was Destiny! I freaked. She motioned me over to the waiting room in a hurry before my mom came in.

I was kinda freak out. I mean, my god, how can she work in a hospital if she moved out at sixteen? I was confused. They must have set the standards lower or something. She didn't even finish highschool.

She texted me. "I will come by later, after work, and explain."

After my appointment, which went perfectly fine, I came home and waited outside for Destiny. She parked across the street. I went over and sat down by the tree. She sat down too. Ivy and her husband went to play. It was about 7:00 P.M. I was already getting tired.

"You looked confused to see me working in a hospital." She said.

"Yeah, well, I always thought that you had to be a college graduate to work in a facility like that." I said.

"Oh, but you do. I did graduate from college." She said.

"Wait, I thought you said you moved away at sixteen." I said.

"Yeah, and I did. I went to highschool at another school. I got a college scholarship for two years. I only went for one. I'm an LPN." She said.

"Oh. Sorry, I just thought that..." and then she stopped me.

"Oh, I get it. Look, mom thought I wouldnt graduate or do anything great with my life when I moved out. Me and Jason have worked really hard to get where we are today. Ivy stayed at my mother-in-law's house while I went to school and Jason worked till 8 each night while I sat with her and did my homework." She said.

"Thats really cool." I said.

My mom called me in. Destiny, Ivy, and Jason left.
