            Jared violently put the key in the ignition. Stephanie asked “Where are we going first”? “The Pizza Parlor” he replied. “WHAT?!” She yelled, “Alexis has disappeared and you want pizza”? “No! But Alexis couldn’t have gone home and we have been to the pizza place twice”! Jared was worried.

            He ran into the pizza parlor while Stephanie searched the library. “Have you seen Alexis, The girl I was here with about two days ago?” He yelled. Skylar, the young co-owner was standing behind the counter.

            “I saw her run past the window. She looked like she was crying! Did something happen?” Skylar asked Jared. Without answering, he wrote down his cell phone number and laid it on the counter. “If you see her, please keep her here and call me”!

            Without another word, he started searching the street. Meanwhile, Stephanie was running up isles of books searching for her. She checked the bathrooms, corners, and the back room. She wasn’t anywhere on 21^st Street, that much they knew.

            They drove to 22^nd Street, then to 23^rd. All Jared wanted to do now was hold Alexis tightly. He couldn’t believe what Chelsea had done. Now, Alexis might not even forgive him. They had searched up and down the surrounding streets for 10 miles. Then the sun started to set. They still hadn’t found her.

            Stephanie and Jared just wanted to find her. She couldn’t imagine being all alone dealing with the annoying Hollister kids everyday. Jared simply couldn’t imagine any day without her.

Alexis was still running. She had no where to go. Her parents weren’t home. She didn’t want to go home. She ran to a place Stephanie had once told her about, a peaceful place where she could just sit. It wasn’t too far. ‘Only another couple miles’ she thought.

            Though Jared knew she most likely wasn’t there, they decided to check her house.

When they got there, Stephanie knocked on the door and Jared waited in his car. Alexis’ 10^th grade brother, Johnathan, answered the door. “Hi, is Alexis here?” she asked. “No, sorry” he replied. “Well if she shows up, could you have her call me?” she left her cell phone number with him.

            Stephanie met Jared back at the car. “Where else could she be” he impatiently asked her. Stephanie gasped.

            She didn’t need to say anything. Jared didn’t care, he just got out of the car, and handed Stephanie the keys. “Are you serious?” she asked. “Well we have covered every part of town I know about.”

            Stephanie opened the door and sat in the driver’s seat, then sped off after Jared got in the car.

            10 minutes later, Stephanie arrived at a set of Gothic-Style gates. They saw an empty grave yard except for a single moving person. Before Stephanie could stop the car, Jared jumped out and ran after her.

            She was walking in the opposite way and didn’t realize anything until she heard loud foot steps. Alexis turned around, and Jared was right there. He hugged her so tightly she couldn’t break free. And at that moment she realized she never wanted too. Jared softly kissed her and said “I love you!”

            “I love you too” she whispered, “but I have a secret.” He looked at her with anxious eyes, “I’m just not sure you’re ready to know”.
