Amnesia Chapter 10

 

“Hey Kat.” Avril said smiling as she walked in. “Hi, so how are you liking it here?” Kat replied slowly. “Its...nice.” Devin replied slowly. “Mm hm, sorry about Sheena, she can be a little annoying sometimes.” Kat stated slowly. “Um yeah...so she said something and I was wondering about it...” “About you being a vampire?” Kat questioned picking at her nails. “Yeah.” “Look most vampires...they want to deal with the court their way. They don't see any good in have a resistance.” “Hm...so I'm the only one?” Kat nodded. “For now.” Nodding slowly Devin moved to the door. Avril stopped him and asked, “Anything else?” “Nope have fun.” she stated smiling. “Oh and the bust doesn't matter.” “What bust-” Devin started opening the door to here a crash. “Oh,” Avril said looking into the hall. “that one.”

When walking down the hall Avril's stomach grumbled, so they made their way to the dinner hall. Looking around as she walked towards the table covered with food, she couldn't help but notice how warm the room was. Walking past one Avril stopped dead in her tracks. Turning she found it was the one from the day before. “Your not fully wolf are you?” she questioned. “Yep. I was wondering when you'd notice.” Jeremy smirked leaning back in his seat. “I was beginning to think you were defective.” Devin scowled and stiffened. “Its hard to sense your difference when I have to compare you with a vampire.” she replied coolly.

“Are you part something else like say vampire?” Jeremy asked suddenly. Smiling she reached out and touched his hand. Pulling his hand back are though she was burning his hand he looked at her in shock; she was way to cold for her own good. At that temperature Avril should be dead. “I guess you've discovered the secret of the ice queen.” a wolf said suddenly. “Who are you?” Jeremy said as the wolf looked at Avril frowned when he saw something and then looked back at him as another join at his side. “Eric and this is Jamie.” he stated not looking over at Jamie but studding him intensely. “Oh.” Jeremy mouthed not knowing the importance of his name. Watching Jeremy Eric smirked he didn't know. “I was Avril's body guard back in the day.” he stated smiling.

Jeremy looked up and studied him. “Oh so what secret is it that I've discovered?” “Avril's cold blooded.” Eric said leaning on Avril's shoulder. Jeremy smirked. “Really? So did she turn cold blooded before or after she started shagging vampires?” Jeremy asked cockily. Eric looked at Devin and then at Jeremy and chuckled. Jeremy wanted Devin to attach him so that he could kill him because in his mind vampires were trash. “Well uh,” Eric smiled at Avril and then looked back at Jeremy. “when my covers got to hot she was always their to cool them.” Jeremy's face dropped and he went back to his food clearly defeated.

As they turned to finally get their food Jeremy yelled out one last comment. “So she dumped you for his kind?” Eric smiled, “Who said she dumped me?” Devin glared at Eric and Jeremy and lead Avril to a table then went and got her food.

Looking over at the table were Jeremy sat Avril leaned over to Eric and whispered. “I did dump you.” “Yeah I know but he does need to know that because it'll just cause more problems.” Eric whispered back. Smiling softly she began to pull back when Eric stopped her and whispered, “Their not gonna like your mark.” he stated coolly running his hand down her back tracing the mark. “I really don't care.” Avril said glaring at them. “You should. They think your weak because you chose Devin for a mate.” “I'll just have to prove them wrong then.” she stated boldly flashing him a smile.

When Eric saw her smile he couldn't help it his heart went wild. 'This is gonna be harder than I thought.' thought looking down at the plate before him. He still had strong felling for her but it was clear there was nothing he could do about it she had chosen Devin. Smiling he realized there was one thing he could do about it he could support her through it all.

“So what now?” Devin asked as the walked out to the fighting range. “I think its time we show them who's boss.” Eric stated cockily. “I'm not sure that's a good idea.” Devin frowned back. Avril grinned. “I am. Lets good.” Avril stated slightly smacking his head before taking off running. “That's not fair!” Devin yelled before taking off after her.

When Devin caught up with her without breaking out of a jog he knew she was putting on a show. Not really wanting to go along he brought his hands up to her sides and tickled her until she was laughing on the ground, writhing in his arms, and screaming for him to stop in between breaths because she couldn't breathe. Chuckling he stopped and watched her try to smooth out her breathing.

“That's not fair.” she finally stated looking at him. “Next time don't cheat and I wont.” he stated calmly standing up and offering his hand that still had the cuff on it. “I don't want to get up.” she groaned. “Why not?” Devin asked slowly. “Because then I have to get to work and I don't want to work today.” “Oh but princess if you didn't want to get schooled today you should have told me before because we could have waited.” Jeremy said suddenly tired of all of this.

“Oh you think your slick.” Avril stated starring at him. Jeremy just grinned in response. “So that means you wouldn't mind fighting me now would it?” she stated pushing herself up. “Do you honestly think you can handle me? Sure your good with vampires but their easy a wolf on the other hand is not.” Avril let out a hiss and jumped at him.

Tackling him easily she put a knife to his throat and grinned. “I thought you had skills?” “You c-can't be human.” he stuttered looking up at her; she'd moved way to fast not even he could move that fast. “She's not.” Kat said from their sides suddenly. “I've been trying to tell you that all week. She's a dreamer now do you need anymore prof?”

Jeremy whimpered softly showing that he acknowledged her authority hoping she wouldn't kill him for his disbelief as the law stated she should. “Don't worry you safe so long as you don't try it again.” she stated reading his mind. “How did yo-” “My deylay allows me insight into others thought at time and that was one of them.” Jeremy nodded slowly and got up as she moved off him. “Thanks.” he mumbled before taking off to think.

Jeremy put his fist down hard into the wall. “How is it that miss screw up gets everything and yet I've never broken one law but here I am the reject! I've spent my hole life trying and she's done nothing and its all fallen into her lap!” Jeremy snarled then pulled his hand back to punch the wall when a sent drifted into his nose.

From behind him a strangely a familiar voice spoke. “Who, might I ask are you talking about?” Stiffening he turned to the voice. “Holy sh-” “No such thing.” he replied before he could finish is curse. Jeremy cocked his head slightly and then replied slowly. “Your ex-lover.” “Ex? Oh you mean Avril. Wait what?” the man stuttered. “Justin, Avril is with Devin.” Justin coughed suddenly and looked at him like he was the devil.

“What did you say?” Justin asked his face clearly displaying his anger. “Devin and Avril hooked up. They've been together ever since I met her. If you don't believe me ask them yourself.” Jeremy backed away from him slowly. “Their here?” Justin asked taking a step closer. “Yeah, I'll take you to them.” Jeremy replied turning to walk towards their home. “Wait you just gonna take me their you not gonna check me first?” Justin asked in disbelief. “I could be here to kill you and all your friends and your gonna take me their?” “Um yeah...I could smell if their was more with you and honestly if you want to mess with Avril be my guest.” Justin nodded slowly then started following him looking around slowly.

“What exactly is Avril doing out here?” Justin asked finally after they'd finally come to the house. “Um you have to ask her that.” “Why's that?” “Cuz I don't know and speak of the devil here she is.” Jeremy stated grinning at her back. Devin turned first and turned sheet white. Feeling him stiffen beside her Avril turned around saying, “Baby what's wron-” “Wow its a small world isn't it?” Justin asked eying them carefully. “You wer-were dead-I killed.” Avril finally said. “Funny thing about that is the Deylay Dreamers knew that the slayer would revolt and that was why they cursed the slayer and the way they kill so that those should have no second chances. See I did get my second chance after all.” Justin stated grinning.

“Oh.” Avril stated slowly looking down. Justin looked from Avril to Devin to the crowd around them and said quietly “Why don't you two show me the grounds?” Both nodded and headed off into the same direction.

When they had finally gotten way from the house Justin turned to Devin with fire in his eyes, “What the hell were you thinking?” Avril stepped between the two and looked Justin straight in the eyes. “Its not entirely his fault.” Justin closed his eyes trying to clam down. “I just thought he'd have enough sense not to mess with you.” “Justin when we remembered you it was too late.” Avril said shaking her head and raising arms above her head. “Plus you were dead!” As she dropped her arms her hands brushed his arms. Turning pale she backed up and then took off running. Realizing what had just taken place Justin chased after her.

Teleporting and carefully hiding her trail she hoped he wouldn't find her. Sitting on the rock she cried. How could he keep doing this to her? Someday things might fix themselves but as of yet nothing made sense. “I hate him.” Avril whispered to herself quietly.
