Used Chapter 4

 

Running home Nici still couldn't believe what had just happened. A really hot guy had ignored her insult and asked her to Devin's Lie's! That concert had been sold out for months now! Nici looked their music and was going crazy just thinking about it.

Running up stairs she began tearing her closet apart trying to find the perfect thing to wear. “Nici, baby.” her mother said from her door. “Yeah?” Nici grumbled from her closet. “I was gonna ask if you had plans to night because the Lates are having your sister and me over for dinner but I guess you do.” she smiled. “Mmm hmm.” Nici replied from her closet. “See you baby.” Nici sighed, 'Jeez why does she always do that?' then groaned to herself and continued tearing things up.

As Nici continued getting ready for her first date in months she realized how much she'd rather stay home and disappear. Why now why when she was just getting her life back in order did she have to come screw things up again? What is it with Chealse? One minute she hates you the next she's all best friend-y on you? Before Chealse had stopped being friends with her over a guy now she was back to being friends with her. “Maybe I should call and cancel I mean, Jason is nice and all but was he really worth it?” she said to her reflection. “After all Chealse is using me but this could be my chance to get her back...after all those month of planning and now when I have my chance am I really going to play it nice?”

Be the bigger person her mother had always told her...but that was before she had left him. Now Nici couldn't look at her anymore. Just thinking of her made Nici sick. Be the bigger women ha ever since she had caught dad in bed with that...girl she'd been from one man to the next. Hmf...maybe she was right...but..."I'm just going to go and have fun and try to forget things for a little while."she sighed "Who am I trying to fool I'm such a loser!" she held back her scream just in time to hear the door bell ring. "Oh my God he's here." "NICI!" her sister called from the bottom of the stairs. "Theirs a guy here to see you and he's kinda cute!"

When Nici reached the bottom of the stairs her sister whispered, "Hey if things don't work out can I have him?" "Hey!" Nici elbowed Karen. "Its just a date nothing more so just forget about it. Bye." Then Nici turned the corner and ran right in to Jason. He was wearing a black shirt that had Devin's Lie's on it and his pants were dark blue and full of holes. "Hey, you ready?" "Hey..." Nici sighed he looked hot. “Uh yeah.” she said finally.

Walking behind her he couldn't believe how different she looked with her hair pulled back out of her face. She was wearing a black tank and a pair of over sized pants the were covered in chains and yet she looked hot. Looking at her now she really did look like that girl his aunt had showed him in the scrap books. It seemed funny to him now that he thought about it but originally he that those pictures couldn't be of her because he was convinced that her black hair was natural. Grinning to himself he shook his head this might be fun after all.

As Nici entered the car every line of poetry she'd written came crashing back. I'm not ready for this she thought as she looked over at Chealse. I can't even remember how to breathe...how am I going to pull all this off..."Nici...are you alright?" Jason asked. "I...I'm fine..." Nici put on the best smile she could muster and flashed it at Jason to prove it. "I'm ok just a little jittery is all." "Yeah well I'm not surprised." Chealse spoke quick. "I mean even I am with the backstage passes and all." "Ba...ooofa." Chealse back handed Nici and was about to do it again when she saw Jason's cock-eyed look so she gently patted her back like a loving friend would. "Come on snap out of it...it'll be fine." "I'm sure glad you think so." Nici said with a glare.

Pulling out of the drive Jason sighed this would be a long drive. It was really clear now that Chealse and Nici were not the really good friends everyone else in the family seemed to think. Nici was pretty like Aunt Viv said but she was also really quiet. He didn't really like quiet girls because they were harder to judge. You never knew what they were thinking and what they weren't thinking. A quiet girl is what got him in this mess in the first place.

Staying lost in his thoughts Jason made the time pass quickly. As soon as they had parked Chealse grabbed the door nob "Hey we're here see you later Nici have Fun Jason." hopped out of the car and drug her boyfriend behind her. 

Looking at Nici still sitting beside him he sigh. "Look my cousin can be very...well she can be a real brat sometimes...and I highly doubt you two have been such great friends for all these years. No a fence but your just not her kind of friend." Nici sighed, "I was once...but that was before...and this is now lets go have the time of our life and worry about our popularity then." Jason grinned, maybe she wasn't really the quiet type maybe she just didn't want to mess with Chealse anymore. From the speech she sounded like his type alright. "Sure why not."

After the concert Jason decided that they shouldn't really head home yet so he pulled into the town's ice cream parlor's drive thru and ordered them all something before heading to a local park. Deciding that it was time to really get to know Nici Jason wrapped his arm around Nici and took of walking around the path. Walking beside her he could tell that she had really been hurt. Looking at her face while she walked beside him lost in her thoughts he could help but want to kiss her.

 

"I should have known better than to ask her. That girl is nothing but trash! The little monster!" "What is it with you and Nici?" Alex asked. “I did its just she uncontrollable she's one of them now and I can't trust her until she's on my side again.” "Baby don't worry about it he'll be careful." Alex reached for Chealse's arm and missed. “I just...she was my best friend and she wasn't gonna let me have my way and she knew how I felt....and I just don't want to see Jason get hurt like I did.” Alex got up and wrapped his arms around her. "Your cousin's a big boy and he can take care of himself..." Alex sighed and slowly started moving his hands up and down her arms. “Look why do you get close to her again you know become friends again so that you two can work things out. That way you can be sure that she's not gonna hurt him?” "I knew there was a reason I loved you." Chealse then relaxed. Tomorrow...
