Chapter One

Jalena's pov

"Jalena! Wake up! It's 8:10! Your going to be late for school!" my mom yelled up the stairs. I groaned then jumped out of bed and got ready in a hurry. I called my friend Kamran since my mom left. "...what . . . " I heard him groan over the phone, "Kam can you give me a ride to school?" "why? .." "because its 8:10 and we're both going to be late!" "Jal, its Martin Luther King day." I just stood there in shock. "It’s martin Luther king day, no school?" "yea, I would already be at your house by now if we had school today. why are you up so early?" "my mom said it was a school day." "haha! well since im awake now, do you wanna hang out?" "Sure im ready to go anyway so come by any time." "ok ill be there in 15 minutes." "k see ya." "bye"

I hung up then called my mom. "Hello this is Raina Henderson how may I help you?" "Hi mom" "hi sweetie, what’s wrong?" "well considering that someone woke me up at 8:10 on Martin Luther King Day and told me it was a school day nothing really." "oh sorry honey I forgot you didn’t have school today." "k its fine, im gonna be hanging out with Kam today." "ok, have fun, bye" "bye." I hung up and the door bell rang.

As soon as I opened the door Kamran ran in and gave me a hug. I laughed and said, "Kam put me down!" "sorry Jal cant do that, we got a lot of stuff to do today." I laughed again then he put me down real quick and quickly picked me up bridal style. He took me to my room, which was pretty big cause I was rich. When we reached my room he opened the door and tossed me onto my bed. He went over to my closet and got my swim suit and a towel out of my bathroom and tossed it at me. "Alright come on ma'am its time to go" He picked me up bridal style again and took me out to his car. I loved Kam's car, it was a black fusion. He was always saying he wanted to trade it in and I always told him when he does to give the fusion to me. "k lets go" we started of to the beach, we live in Palm Bay Florida.

When we got there he ran out his door and over to mine before I could get to it. He was really fast, he was the running back for our football team at Palm Bay High School. He was also extremely smart and a real gentleman. I loved how he was, he was really hot too, he had a 6-pack, large arm muscles, that weren’t too large, strong legs, he had dark brown hair, amazingly powerful green eyes that only sparkled when he looked at certain people. He had mocha colored skin. He was soooooooo hot. I had a crush on him but he didn’t have one on me, well at least I think he doesn’t. Anyway, when I got out he picked me up again and started running towards the water, he got about waist deep then hurled me as far as he can. I came back up in shock and then swam over to him and shoved him over he fell under then grabbed my leg and pulled me under. We stared at each other for a few minutes (they have goggles on). We had a connection that we never had before. Then we both went back up and he walked over to me and gave me a hug.

I heard him mumble something under his breath, I knew what he said, but I was in shock. "What Kam?" "huh? oh nothing." His powerful green eyes were boring into mine. I had to look away, I cant stand when someone looks into my eyes, ive always had problems with it. "Jalena." I looked up at him straight into his eyes. I must have had a power to my eyes, because he looked away for a moment."Jalena I want to tell you something, but I dont know what you would think." "You can tell me anything Kamran you know that." "I know...this time it's just difficult." Oh no...he knows I like him! oh no! he's gonna say he doesn’t like me! oh no! "Jalena I....I..." CRACK! Thunder clapped across the sky with such power I thought the earth was going to crack right open. Kam grabbed my hand and we swam to shore as fast as we could. It started raining while we were still in the water so we tried to swim faster as soon as we reached shore we ran for the car. We jumped in breathing hard and laughing. Kam looked over at me, I knew he desperately wanted to tell me something. He looked away real quick then back and said, "So now what Miss Henderson?" "Well what do you want to do Mr.Ashcroft?" "how about we go and change, and then watch a movie at my house?" "Ok good idea." with that we drove off to my house so I could get some clothes
