Web of Lies

"Now, I've heard some things going around about you two..." The teacher said calmly as she waited for the councillor to finish her meeting.

"Us two? Don't you mean just Hannah? I didn't do anything!" Natalie burst out.

Hannah went to open her mouth, but stopped herself, knowing that it would only cause a fight. That, and despite what had happened, she still felt guilty over making Natalie cry.

"I don't know what the story is, but I think it best that you see the councillor about it imediately. Talking things out may help to sort out this fighting. However, unfortunately, for your violence, I will have to give you a detention and a warning slip." She said.

Again, Hannah didn't say a word. What was the point? It would just end up in quarrelling and even more punishment.

Just as the teacher finished, the councillor door opened and the three were greeted by a petite, fair woman. "Yes, Peter?"

The teacher, Peter, stepped inside the office, leaving the two girls waiting.

"Well?"

Hannah looked up, "Well what?"

Natalie gave her an evil glare, "I know what you're upto and it wont work!"

"For fuck sake! What's the point in trying to tell her? You'll just find some way of making it seem I'm still in the wrong. That's what you do! You're manipulative, naive, ignorant and arrogant!" Hannah said, her voice on the verge of yelling.

"You're such a liar!"

The pair quietened down quickly when they her the voices getting louder and the door opened.

"Ok, I'll talk to you later," Peter said, stepping out of the office. "Ok girls, try not to fight."

There was an awkward silence as he left them with the councillor.

"Ok, well... Come in, take a seat please." The councillor said warmly, "My name's Jenny, as you might know. From what I've heard, there's been quite a bit of bickering between you two-"

"Bickering?! More like abuse!" Natalie yelled.

"Please, don't yell... And please don't cut me off." Jenny said, still maintaining her calm composure.

"I'm not yelling! I'm just saying it's not just a matter of a disagreement but a fucking fight! Bloody abuse! I have every right to call the police on Hannah! After what she did to me!"

"I've done nothing to you!!" Hannah retaliated.

"Not a word until I'm finished." The councellor snapped. "Now, from what I've heard, there's alot that's been going on... I wont name anything or anyone, but rather would prefer that I heard the story from both your views." The teacher turned to Hannah, "Well?"

"IF you don't mind, I would like to go first." Natalie said with such a sly tone that even the devil himself would have thought wicked.

Hannah sighed and turned away.

"Now, I don't want any interruptions from you Hannah, you'll have your turn soon enough. And please stop cutting me off, Natalie!" Jenny said. "Ok, please begin."
