Web of Lies Chapter 3

"Hannah, first of all, why did you tell everyone that it was my fault?" Natalie said once they were away from the crowd.

Hannah looked puzzled and took a few seconds before gathering her thoughts. "What are you talking about?"

"I know it was you. That's why they're blaming me..." Was the blunt reply.

The angry was starting to simmer in the back of Hannah's mind. "They told me it was you who told them."

"Why would I do a thing like that to you?"

Those words truely cut Hannah. Why would she do anything like that?

"Hannah, have I ever hurt you before?"

Again, another knife through her heart. The pain began to bring tears to her eyes.

"It's ok, I'm not angry anymore. I thought it over, and we all make mistakes..."

"Natalie! Wake up! You always complain about people not liking you!" Hannah suddenly yelled. "Did you ever once stop to think why that was preferred to abusing them and accusing them of wrong doing when really you're the only one in the wrong?!"

There was a silence.

Hannah composed herself before she continued. "Natalie... I don't know why you would hurt me, but you have in the past..."

Natalie frowned, "What are you talking about? You've done nothing but hurt me!"

"Hurt you? Only once, and that was a few days ago when I decided to confront you about break my trust once again!" She grabbed Natalie's arm before she could walk away.

"Let go or I'll report you to the police!" She yelled.

"Sure, you think you can resort to calling the police for everything. Like that time when I called you and put you onto Kate instead? You think you know things, you think the world owes you, you think everyone owes you just becaue you can't handle it when people get angry when you do bad things... You are going to shut up and listen and I will tell you what you've done to hurt me and how you've hurt me now!"

Natalie's eyes began to fill with tears, "Why are you doing this? Why does everyone do this to me?"

"Shut up!" hannah said harshly, siting them both down. "You remember 3 years ago when I was dating Tom?" She paused waiting for a response, but when she got none, she continued, "You remember how you slept with him and told me it was because he was feeling down and you wanted to cheer him up? I forgave you for sleeping with my boyfriend then..."

"Are you saying that hurt you? Now you're pulling up petty excuses, I didn't sleep with him, I was comforting him, you know that..."

Hannah glared at the girl, "Stop lying to me! Fucking hell, stop giving me that shit! You knew I was falling for him and you seduced him and slept him with just to prove he wasn't worth my time, that's what you told me the following week. And when it was brought up again you claimed that he raped you! I walked in on you two when I was suposed to be on a date with him! He dumped me, then you dumped him for hurting me like that... You are so unbelievable!"

Again there was silence. Both were trying hard to hold back tears.

"Hannah, when are you going to let it go? It was 3 fucking years ago.."

"Yes, and it still hurts! Why? Because you kept lying to me, convincing me it was not your fault, that i was mine for choosing a guy that would cheat on me! Not to mention the time when you and Kate were friends, and you told everyone about how Kate was sexually abused by her dad, then tried to blame it on me, when YOU were the only one who knew about it at the time!"

Natalie let the tears roll down her cheeks. She dried them then suddenly snapped and hit Hannah across the face. Hannah hit the ground hard, soon getting up and slapping Natalie back.

Unfortunately for Hannah the teacher saw her and pulled both of them aside.
