As soon as Harmony got in class she gave her teacher her excused absence. “Here, teacher…” “Thank you Harmony. You still do not look well. Are you sure that you should be on campus.” “Yes…um…I’m fine,” she said hurrying to take her seat. “Well,” the teacher said starting the lecture for the day. Harmony didn’t pay attention at all. She gazed out the window the whole period passing. (Darik, why does it feel like you are hiding something? Would you even hide anything from me? And then, you are sick as well.) “It’s nice to see you back Darik.” He looked at his teacher from the corner of his eyes. “Yes, sir.” Then he walked, with Dominick following, to his seat being starred at by the girls as usual. “Good morning Darik. Good morning Dominick,” two girls said. The boys looked at them over their shoulders and threw their hands up carelessly. As always, the girls did their giggles and girl talk.  *Dominick is now pouting looking stupid* Dominick put his head on his desk and Darik leaned back in his chair with his hands behind his head sighing.  “How long can you keep this up Darik?” “Keep what up?” “Your B.H. (blood hunger.) I can sense it…I can feel it.  You should…” “I can’t. I don’t want to drink it. It’s…” “It’s no different from what you do to “her” when she cuts herself. Those little drops will not keep you alive long. You will only want more…want her more.” “I don’t want to talk about it.” “How sweet it must be…warm…and refreshing.” *Darik’s eyes changing colors and him biting his lip* He slammed his hands on the desk table. “Cut it out…Dominick.” “It’s not my fault, but you can’t stop yourself. At this rate, you’ll hurt her. How long can we hide the truth from her eyes because she isn’t disappearing anytime soon?” Darik tried to ignore his older cousin but he knew that what he spoke was the truth. For the rest of the class, Darik thought about what he should do. Three more classes of reviews for the big tests, and then there was lunch. The bell rang loudly and everyone scattered towards the cafeteria. As said, the boys were waiting for the girls at the entrance. “You’re late,” Cain said joking with them, and then he wrapped his arm around Raya. She blushed very hard and couldn’t stop. “How about I buy you something to eat,” Leon said to Angel, doing the same. Monika looked at Dominick, who looked at her. They both smiled and then walk off together looking down in opposite directions, arm in arm.  Jealousy was arousing in the cafeteria from everywhere. *the other students didn’t like what they were seeing.* Darik watched Harmony from his eye corner as usual. She began to feel sick again, but didn’t let him see it. “Are you going to eat today, Harmony?” “I didn’t…plan on it…but...” His eyes dimmed, losing its glow and happiness. “You should eat something, Harmony. You’re not well, and gym class is next…” “I know…but I’m just not hungry Darik…and I am well. I’m fine. I’ve told you a…” *Darik puts his finger over Harmony’s lips.* “You’ve told me a many times. I know…come on. We should go and sit down.” When they walked in the cafeteria, glares of envy hit them in the face. *Darik and Harmony froze and felt embarrassed and frightened in some way.*“Just…act…like…you don’t see them.” “I’m…trying to…Darik.”  When that blew over, everyone was sitting down having a nice time. “Oh yea, you guys were out so you don’t know,” Cain said. “Know what,” Harmony and Darik asked confused. “The Ball of Royalty of course,” Raya said. “Everyone is going. You two should go as well,” Angel said. “Speaking of which, I need a date. So Raya, will you be my date?” Cain asked. “Yeah, I kind of need one too. Angel are you in favor?” Leon stated. “Monika?” Dominick said looking off.  Tension was in the air again. “Um…of course,” the girls said overwhelmed with happiness.  “Well that settles it. We’re all taken now,” Dominick said nonchalantly, “and you too are as well.” “What do you mean?” Darik said to Dominick. “Do I need to repeat myself? I know you don’t want me to. But this is the fun part. You and Harmony, Darik, are going to the Ball of Royalty together, as a date, as a couple, and together.” Everyone at the table started laughing as the rest of the cafeteria went up in a blaze. “Don’t worry Darik. We will have Harmony looking absolutely knock them dead gorgeous for you!” Raya said with a smirk. Darik and Harmony looked off blushing.  “Um…excuse me…I have to go and do something,” Harmony said getting up from the table and walking off in a hurry. *She was actually running* Darik got up and went after her, worried about her sickness.  “Do you think we said something wrong,”Leon asked. “No, nothing at all,” Dominick said smirking. It was less than easy for Darik to find her. She was near the back of the school, leaning against the wall, breathing deeply. As she tried to walk off, she stumbled from dizziness, but luckily, Darik caught her just in time. Lucidly she was still sick and had been caught in her lie again. He helped her regain her balance and she then walked away from him again. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him. “You do realize that you’ll get hurt if you continue?” She smiled stiffly and said without thinking, “You do realize that I am not a baby.” When she realized what she had said it was a little too late. (You’re wrong. You are mines. You are my baby, Harmony.)  He smiled a little at her. “I’m sorry Darik…that was out of line.” “It’s fine.” He put some money in the drink machine and bought her a juice. He pulled a pill out of his pocket and broke half. “Take this…” She never really questioned what Darik was giving her because it always worked, and never hurt her. She took the pill with no restraints nor complaints. “That’s good. Stay out of trouble,” Darik said and then walked off. “Okay Class 5! Today it’s boys versus girls! So girl’s, you might want to give it your all!” All the girls in the class began to look so down. The boys always won, really. Harmony was the only one who could probably keep up, but who knew for sure. She had been missing school since the boy and girl games had started in gym. No one knew what she was capable of. The game today was consisted of a mile run relay. At half of the mile, the batons would be passed to the other teammates. There were twelve people on each team, so there were twelve at start, and twelve at the half way point, girls and boys.  Lucky for the girls, Harmony was set at the half way point with another fast running girl, Naomi. But unfortunately, Darik, Cain, Dominick, and Leon were at the line as well: they weren’t fast just because they were Vampires since they didn’t even use their powers. The boys were just physically skilled. They were standing there as if they didn’t care. “You can use any physical means to win this race, just do not cheat! READY, GET SET, GO!” The students ran off swiftly, the girls tried their hardest. Harmony whispered something to Naomi. “Naomi, since you are skilled at gymnastics as well, I have an idea. This is a little risky, but perform a triple: two back handsprings and a back flip when I give you warning.” “Okay. If you say so.” The boys were handed there batons first, but waited until the girls were handed theirs. They wanted it to be a “fair” race. The boys were still faster but Harmony and Naomi didn’t care. They ran slowly at first and then ran their fastest to perform the task needed. At least 8 feet from the line Harmony gave Naomi the warning since the routine needed to e performed at most 5 feet. They both altered their bodies to perform a back handspring, and then another, and then a back flip landing them both at the line. Who won? Only the camera knew.  All the girls were crossing their fingers while the teacher checked the camera. “WOW! THIS IS AMAZING! FOR THE FIRST TIME, WE HAVE A TIE!” Everybody’s mouths dropped. All the girls started to scream, and ran over to thank Naomi and Harmony. “Thank you, Naomi.” “No, Harmony, it was my pleasure, really,” Naomi responded to her. The teacher wouldn’t announce who had actually made the tie happen, but it was Harmony and Darik who ended up tying. The other boys on the team looked shocked at the two girls, while the boys who ran against them went over to congratulate them. “You two did well,” Leon said. “Very well…” Cain said. “Congrats,” Dominick and Darik said, and then they walked off to got o the locker room. When Darik got in the locker room, he started breathing heavily again. His vision blurred and he lost balance. Dominick caught his arm, and said, “I told you so. Your father left you in my hands Darik, and Uncle Drake would try to kill me if something happened to you, as well as my father Lord Drew. Come on you’re going to the hospital corps, rather you like it or not.” “I don’t want to,” Darik said through his teeth. *Dominick’s smile goes away and his eyes turns red.* through his fangs he angrily said, “You don’t have a choice.” He used some of his powers to force Darik into a sleep. Darik was trying to resist but with his blood count low resorting him to weakness, there was nothing he could do for himself. Dominick carried Darik out of the locker room. “Teacher, my cousin has passed out. I don’t think he is well yet.”  “Oh, take him to the hospital corps then.” Dominick looked at Leon and Cain with his Vampire eyes and they already knew what had happened. Then he looked at Harmony who he knew was now worried, but if she had followed, then the other students would find out the truth.  “Hello Dominick. What has happened to Darik,” the nurse said. “He passed out in gym class. He’s been sick and I told him not to return to school, but he didn’t want to listen.” No one else besides Dominick and his cousins knew that the nurse, who he was talking to, Mrs. Snow Eve, was a Vampire as well. The only reason they were talking in such plain language is because other humans as well as human nurses were around, but Snow already knew the problem. “I will take care of him for you,” Prince Dominick she whispered. “I will only leave him in your care. Also, do not allow anyone besides the other two princes, Harmony, and myself to see him. She will be here later on tonight. I am positive of this.” “She still does not know, does she?” Dominick shook his head. “No. He has to tell her. I only hope that it is not too late.” “Well, you should get back to class. I will not alert your fathers either. I know how angry they will be. Shall I give him surrogate-hemo- (substitute blood)?”  “Yes…he would hate if you gave him the real thing.” Dominick walked off. The rest off the day, Harmony thought about Darik. She was impatient and wanted to see him so bad until she thought that she needed to see him. Every class passed slowly to her, while he slumbered in pain.  Finally, classes were done for the day, but she still couldn’t see him until later on that night. What would she do until then? “Harmony!” She turned around. It was Cain calling her. “Yes…” “Are you going to go see him…see Darik?” She inhaled weirdly, as if she was about to cry. She smiled instead, “yes…a little later…I can’t go now…” “I understand. Well you can hang with me and the others for the day, if you want to.” “What are you hiding? What is he hiding from me! All of us…have known each other for so long…but you still are hiding secrets…” Harmony said looking down with tears starting to form. Dominick stood leaning with his foot against the wall and his arms folded. (This is what I meant Darik. Look at this pain you’re causing her.) Leon held his head in his hand, shaking it backwards and forth. “Um…look. Whatever Darik is hiding from you…I’m sure that he will tell you in due time so don’t cry. Smile, that’s what he would want.” She wiped her tears away. And put on a fake smile. Leon did a fake laugh, “Even if it’s a fake one, it’ll work.” And Dominick being Dominick, “Talk about being fake, Leon.”  After that, they all went off and hung out like old times.  The boys tried to keep Harmony happy, for Darik. Leon was acting stupid chasing Harmony around with water guns, not to mention it’s the end of fall. “How stupid…” Cain said. (How long do you have left Darik? How long can you try to suppress your feelings? Why don’t you…) Dominick’s thoughts were cut off by Harmony who squirted water in his face, and ran off laughing. *Scene of Dominick smiling angrily with his eyes twitching.* “Give me one of those,” he said to Leon, making gestures with his fingers. Leon laughed kind of scared, “RUN HARMONY!” Leon said. Dominick pushed Leon, took the gun and chased after Harmony. “GET BACK HERE!” “YOU HAVE TO CATCH ME FIRST!” Harmony yelled laughing and still running. Eventually she got tired and got wet up very nice by Dominick. Back under the tree, Leon was making a stupid little sneaky face. “Don’t you even…” Cain started to say but he got a squirt to the face and then Leon balled off. He chased after Leon with a gallon of water in his hand. “IT’S A WATER GUN FIGHT CAIN!! NOT A WATER GALLON FIGHT!!” “YOU ASKED FOR IT! I TRIED TO WARN YOU!” Cain threw all of the water on Leon who stood looking like a wet cat. Harmony was laughing and begging Dominick to stop, but he wouldn’t. He was having too much fun. Out of nowhere, he was hit with a water balloon in the face, then in the chest, and then in the side. He turned his head slowly. “Mind if I join. You look like you’re having fun,” said a familiar voice. “Darik…” Harmony said. He looked at her laughing and helped her up. “You’re…” He busted a balloon with his finger nail and let it go on top of her head. She stood there with her hair and shirt drenched. The boys started laughing non stop. “You guys are so mean to me,” Harmony said. She grabbed two of the biggest water guns and said, “Run.” She started to wet up Dominick and Darik and eventually they ended up where Leon and Cain were. For at least two hours, they acted like little kids, just running around campus wetting each other up. When they finished. They sat in the dorm’s fireplace room trying to get warm. “THAT HAD TO BE THE DUMBEST IDEA OF THE YEAR! HAVING A DAMN WATER FIGHT WHEN WINTER IS IN LIKE TWO DAYS!” Dominick shouted. The others started laughing. Harmony was just happy to see that Darik was okay. (I feel so bad now. That was truly a dumb idea…) Harmony fell out of her chair, unconscious. “Harmony…Harmony. Harmony…get up…” Darik said panicking.
