*HARMONY’S DREAM*                                     *Scenes of blood splashing on the brilliant white walls of the Light Palace.* Screams flooded the hallways and maids running. “Come here Princess Harmony,” Queen Ariel.  “Ma-ma….what’s going on.  Ma-ma!”  Queen Ariel picked her daughter up and hurried away from the palace through a secret passage. She was injured badly. “Ma-ma.  You’re bleeding… Where is Pa-pa?” Queen Ariel fell to the ground nearly unconscious. “Ma-ma? Ma-ma?” Harmony said crying and panicking. “Don’t cry little Harmony. Listen to me my little one. You must run far away and never look back, but never forget your Kingdom of Peacia. Never forget! Now run!” “But Ma-ma!” “Go Harmony!” Harmony got up and ran as fast as her small legs could carry her. She heard the screams of her mother and then turned to see her mother being feasting upon. “I love you, my sweet Harmony…” “NO! Ma-ma!” *END OF DREAM* Harmony woke up severely sweating and screaming. “NO!” Her eyes flooded with tears.  She felt something wipe her face softly. She looked over. “You had a dream about your past, right?”  Harmony turned her head from Darik and looked down. “You’re fever has gotten worse,” he said touching her forehead, “we won’t be going to school tomorrow.” “You…shouldn’t stay here because I am sick Darik. I’ll be fine.” “You can’t even keep your eyes focused, and your fever is at least 102 now.” “But I’m okay.” “Don’t you remember…I told you I’ll always be here for you…Harmony…” “But...” “No buts. Lay back down and I’ll go and get you something to drink with this pill.” “I don’t want to take it…” “I know you don’t want to, but…don’t make me argue with you about this,” Darik said trying to smile, hiding his own pain. “Okay…Darik.” He walked out of her room and shut her door. He clenched his chest, and his breathing started to get heavy, but he continued to the kitchen and got her some water to drink.  He dropped the first cup and Harmony jumped up. She slowly got out the bed and walked down the hallway. As she walked in the kitchen, she heard Darik gagging. “I can’t…Harmony…” “Darik, what’s wrong,” Harmony said walking towards him. “Go back to your room,” he said sounding angry. He slightly frightened Harmony but she kept walking towards him and grabbed his hand. “You’re bleeding…” she said trying to smile and calm him down. He had slightly cut his finger on a piece of glass. As she started to pull his hand close to her mouth he said, “What…what are you doing?” She put his finger in her mouth and sucked away the blood. “Harmony…” She looked up and smiled. “When we were little, do you remember that you used to do the same thing to me, whenever I cut myself.” “He smiled returning to normal, and said, “Open your mouth.” She opened it and he gave her the pill. She got the glass of water from him as well, to take the pill. As she was putting it away, Darik starred at her oddly with his heart beating swifter and swifter, then louder and louder.  His eyes began to turn red. “Hey, Darik?” “Yes, Harmony?” “Is it ok if we go outside for a bit?” “Um…sure. Can you walk, or should I pick you up?” “I’m o…k…” As soon as she walked off, her body began to lose balance. “Yea, I need to pick you up,” he said smirking. He knelt down in front of her, “Get on, Harmony.” She grabbed a hold to his back, and he stood up, readjusting her body.  They went outside and stood under the stars, and he put her down slowly. “It’s so beautiful…” Harmony said.  Under his breath, he mumbled, “Not as beautiful as you…” “Did you just say something, Darik?” “No, nothing at all…” She looked down, feeling sad for some reason.  Darik quickly noticed this, but he said nothing because he was trying to fight off the hunger deep within his soul. For a while, things were this way. “You look sleepy Harmony.” “A little…” “Let’s go then.” This time, he just simply picked her up, and went back in the house.  Her body was exhausted and she fell asleep before they reached her room.   Darik looked down at her. (She’s asleep already.) As he laid her in her bed her hair flung down, revealing the side of her neck. A strong urge rose from deep inside of his body. Pulsate, after pulsate. (No…) He moved his lips toward her neck, trying to resist, but he couldn’t.  He licked it, as tears started to form in his eyes. (No…stop…I must stop…but) Fangs started t slowly form out of his mouth. He bit his lip trying to resist. Images of younger days with her flashed in his head. How sweet her blood was then. He could taste it in his mouth. Then the image flashed of the night when he found her. (She was so afraid…I can’t. If I did…how would she feel? What would she feel? What would happen between the two of us…) His tears fell as his fangs receded into his mouth. He rested his head on her, as he cried. Even though she was asleep, she could her him; she couldn’t open her eyes, nor move the rest of her body, but she managed to move her hand and rub his head. He was a little shocked. Before she was completely unconscious again, she whispered, “Everything…will be okay…it’s, you and I, until the end.” (Until the end Harmony…) After that, he fell asleep as well, beside her, in the bed.
