HARMONIES OF LIGHT AND DARKNESS : CHAPTER ONE: BROKEN SOULS

Hey, my name's Christiana Harmonia La'Rose. I'm not at all normal for a sixteen year old girl. Well I'll be sixteen in one week, but I'm really fifteen. I've had my DOWNS and my downs, and I've been having some strange feelings lately about some of the things that's going on. All around me, there have been deaths continuously and no one knows why. What's more is, every night I dream that I'm dying or it feels like I'm changing. It's just real hard to explain. I don't know.

I attend Deity of Light Academy, where I have one best friend and her name is Liza Monique Raise. We've been best friends since we were two-years old. I'm in the choir, on the dance team, the student council, and in the honor society. I play volleyball, basketball, run track, and I basically do a lot for my school. A lot of kids would be happy to have the name I do, but I'm not at all enthused. In fact, I hate being here, and like I said earlier, I've been feeling some weird things lately and I know in my heart something bad is about to happen.

I see you're writing in that little book of yours again, Harmonia,” said a voice. Christiana looked up and smiled. “Yeah. It's more like thoughts I collect, Liza. And I thought I told you don't call me Harmonia.” “Well it's your name, right?” “Middle name, if you will.” “So what are you doing after school?” “Same old. I'm going to go home and cook and clean and do all of my mother's work.” “That's not fair.” “Well neither is life Liza. I can't have it easy like every one else in this class.” Christiana sighed. She got up from her desk and straightened out her pants. Liza started smiling real hard. “Guess what?” Christiana looked at her. “What?” “There's a ball tomorrow night. Do you want to go?” “Hmmn. I guess. What's the catch?” “You'll need a invitation. But it won't be hard for you to get one because you're so pretty.” “I sure don't think so, and I don't really care who says so and I don't have an invite.” “Why don't you just accept you for you Christiana. A lot of girls would be glad to have your face, your body, and your brains. Plus, I'll have you an invitation if you come to my house tomorrow at 7:00, dressed in a ball room dress.” Christiana looked pissed. “Well sometimes I wish I could give it all to them, and I guess I'll be there.” She closed her book and and stuffed it in her backpack. Just as she put it on the bell rung. “I'll catch up with you later Liza. I have to go get somethings done. See you later.”

(Home, sweet home. Now, then...I guess that I should start cleaning, but first...) Christiana sat her bag down and then went to her room. She started to take of her uniform when her phone rang. “Hello?” “You will die tomorrow. You will lose your soul. You cannot stop that which is to occur. And no one can save you from all the things that are to happen to you. No one but you, yourself, or God.” Christiana almost dropped the phone. “Who in the hell is this?” “My name is of no importance because if I told you, you wouldn't even remember.” The voice laughed nonchalantly on the other end of the phone. “I find your proposal of death quite amusing. Will you be the one to take my soul?” Christiana mocked the mysterious male laughing. “You must think this is a joke? Well, no matter. You will die.” “I'm a human you dumb ass, and humans die. It's nothing new.” The phone went dead. “That'll show him.” (I welcome my death. I'm tired anyway.)

She mocked me,” said the voice. “Well, older brother, I asked of you to let me do it.” “No. You are the one who's to bite her at the ball.” “What is her name? Her face? These things I do not know.” “Michael, my dear younger brother, her name is Christiana.” “Such a beautiful name she's entitled to.” “Her spirit is strong and she is a real beauty.” “So, you've met her before Gabriel.” “Yes. I have. You must be the one to bite her.” “Why, I do not know, but your wish is mine as well.” “You're such an obedient Vampire.” “Brother Gabriel, do you think the demons will be after her as well if her spirit is as strong as you say it is?” “I know the demons will be after her at the ball tomorrow. The aura that surrounds her soul is so attracting. Trust me, it's like no other.” “Well then my brother, I can't wait to meet her.” “You must go to the ball tomorrow. Here's your invitation. I shall join you later that night. It should be easy since the humans who will be attending the ball, know nothing of our existence.” “Rather they just don't believe.” “But she does Michael. She knows, but there's a warning I must give to you.” “What tis it Gabriel?” “She is said to be a saint, and one who will walk amongst God . We need her so that our race will not die. The demons want her power so that they can use it to overthrow God.” “That's impossible.” “Brother, her power sleeps within her. If she's bitten by a Vampire, her powers will awaken quickly. If she is possessed by a demon, she will lose her soul.” “Gabriel, do you think that God will punish us for altering one of his daughters? I mean, who are we to God?” “Michael, we are not the fallen. Those are demons. They cannot even speak God's name. Our grandfather and forefathers have raised a race of branched off Vampires able to speak Gods name. When we pray, he answers. When he speaks, we listen and

when we speak, he listens. God knows what we have to do, and we know what we have to do. We fight the demons for the sake of peace between humans and Vampires. He knows she is the only one who can help us.” “Gabriel, if this is what must be done, it will be done. Until then,I'm going to go down to Earth and check out the ball room. Farewell, Gabriel.” Michael disappeared into the light.

2 hours passed and Christiana was done cleaning. “I guess I'll go to the store now so that I can get something to cook. When my mother gets here she be too strung out to do anything.” Christiana left her home, and started on her way to the store.

Let's see. I guess I'll make a grilled chicken salad, and steak. Oh, and some French fries. Yeah, that sounds good.” Christiana picked everything, paid for it, and left the store. On her way home, she decided to stop by the ball room place, since it wasn't far from where she was.

What's this feeling I'm getting? It's...could it be?” Michael turned his head as Christiana walked up. Just as quickly as his feeling came, it was gone.

Christiana stared at the fine specimen that stood before her. A tall male, with long black wavy hair. It was almost longer than her on. He was bright with dark eyelashes and eye brows. His eyes were hazel and green, and his body was quite muscular. She just stood in astonishment.

Michael stared back at Christiana just as she was doing him. She was about two to three inches shorter than he was. Her skin tone was a beautiful caramel color, and her hair thick, dark brown, long and bumped. Her eyes were a light brown and gray, and she had dark long eyelashes and smooth black eyebrows. A small, but cute bust line, with a small waist line, wide hips, large thighs, and bow legs. A true beauty.

Hello,” Michael said. “Um...hi.” “How are you today?” “I'm fine, and you?” “I'm dwelling. I feel like I'm in the presence of an angel.” Christiana blushed. “I wish I felt like one.” “You should. So did you come here to see the ballroom?” “Uh...yes, I did. I'm going to the ball tomorrow night.” “Me too. Maybe I'll see you there.” “Yes, you should, Mr.,” “Michael. My name is Michael.” “Michael?” “You don't have to tell me your name. After all, we'll meet again. Farewell.” “fare-well.” After that, Michael walked off, smiling.

Tomorrow, I'll be waiting to see you, unnamed beauty.” Could she be...no. She's not her. She can't be. God, I hope you're listening, please guide this soul of mine so that I may find peace.

I better get home.” Michael...he's unlike any other I've met before. What's this distinctness about?

Christiana sat at the kitchen table, and waited for her mother to walk through the door. 30 minutes had passed and she still hadn't arrived.. “I'll just go ahead and eat.” And so she ate and feel asleep on the living room couch.

Did you have fun on your trip to earth Michael?” “Yes Gabriel. There was even a beautiful girl there who'll attend the ball.” “Don't forget about the mission.” “I know about the mission Gabriel. But, it was only a little run in. Nothing much.” “Whatever you say.” “Well, I'm off to bed early tonight. I''ll need some extra sleep for all that human like dancing at the ball.”

Christiana's phone goes off. It's six already. “Ah! I'm still sleepy....” she said yawning. She got up and did all of the things a person does before going to school or work in the morning. She took a shower, put on her uniform, brushed her teeth, cleaned her face, combed her hair, gathered her things, locked up, and left the building.

Hey, Harmonia!” Christiana turned around. “Hey, Liza.” “Oh, you sound so dead.” “I'm a little tired.” “Oh well. Come on, or we'll be late for class.” As they began walking off, Christiana felt a strong chill. It felt like everything was happening in slow motion. She turned her head and off in the distance she seen a body. Someone was watching her, but they weren't human, and she felt and knew this in her heart. It looked as if it was about to attack, with eyes growing red, and the way it licked it's lips. What in the hell is that? He...it looks human but it's something different about it. What's going on? At that instant, she remembered the voice on the phone. “You will die tomorrow. You will lose your soul. You cannot stop that which is to occur. And no one can

save you from all the things that are to happen to you. No one but you, yourself, or God.” “You go to class. I have something to do first. I'll catch up I promise.” “Huh...whatever you say.”

For a moment Christiana just stood then she walked around as if she was waiting for someone. Once everyone was in the school, Christiana looked to see if the person, or thing was still around. He was, and he walked out nonchalantly. To keep attention down Christiana left the campus with the “thing” following close behind. She went to the park, where no one was around, then turned around to face her problem. “Who are you?” “My name? It's really not that important to you at this moment.” “I shall ask you once more. What is your name,” she said calmly and persistent. “I shall tell you what I am first,” he said with an aggressive tone. “What you are?” she said freaking out. “I am a demon, and I am here for you. You are quite a beauty, just as all the legends have said you are to be. You can come with me quietly, or I will take you by force.” “I'm sorry, I don't really care about you being a demon. Your not the first one that I have ever seen, nor met. So, you do not scare me. And, I refuse to go with you by choice, nor will I accompany you by force. I'll die long before then.” “Well, I'll take that offer as well.” The demon started to pull something strange from out of his back. It was a sword.” He charged towards her with his sword aiming towards her neck. She stood there as if nothing was about to happen. She closed her eyes, and spoke only one word. “Jesus.” The demon stopped in mid action as if he had been struck by something. “What is wrong with you demon? Does the name of Christ scare you so much?” “Damn you! You!” “My name is Christiana and I shall not be killed by the likes of you.” This upset the demon, and he plunged the sword into Christiana abdomen full force. She laughed, as if it didn't hurt. Blood began to spill on to her clothes and drip unto the ground. “You...you will not be the one to kill me. I shall not fall to my knees for low scum such as yourself. She kicked the demon in it's stomach to get it off of her. The sword fell to the ground. And in the blink of an eye the demon's head lie next to it. Someone else had appeared. He was cloaked in a dark robe, and stood behind the demon. Christiana coughed and blood dripped from her mouth. She slowly began to loose her balance but held her ground. He has no sword...so how...how did he just do that?

I'm quite positive that you are wondering about a lot of things.” “Yes...of some nature...I am.” He walked towards her. She began to part her lips, not trusting him. “Do not speak the name of Jesus. You should be reluctant to know that it won't work on me. Though I fear him, I serve him, and that's the way things are supposed to work if I am correct.” Christiana took a death breath. She held her stomach and fell to her knees. If I help her now, then her memory must be erased. She can't know that it's me, Gabriel, and Michael can't know of this incident. It would ruin the plan. She must see Michael, be bitten by Michael, and fight him. But I know that there's a flaw in this plan, yet where, I do not know. She has to stay alive, and I must erase her memory. I will not permit her to remember this. He knelt beside her. He put his sword away, and his other hand started to glow. Christiana looked at him oddly, and he said, “ It's nothing for you to fear.” His hand softly touched her and she tensed, and started to pull away, but he held her with the other arm. “Don't...” He ignored her words and started to heal her wound. “You'll die if it's not treated.” “That...is...that's fine with me.” “Why is that?” “It has...it has already been said...that I will die today...and so...I do not care.” Michael appeared cloaked like his brother, then knelt beside them. “That's not the way for one to live. You must have some reason for living,” Michael said. “No...I'm sorry...I can't think of one.” Gabriel was through healing her, and removed his hand. He and Michael rose to their feet. “Death should not be something you welcome. You should find a reason to live,” Michael said, “their must be someone special in your life, or someone who you recently met, that you would like to know more about. Or maybe there's a friend. Maybe, someone's waiting for you or someone who needs you.” When Michael said this, Christiana eyes widened, and she suddenly thought about him, not knowing it was him. Then she thought about Liza. “See, I knew there had to be someone, “ he said reaching his hand out to help her up. She accepted and stood with them. “Maybe you have yet to find your purpose, but I'm almost certain you will soon. Give it a little more time,” Gabriel said. Then unexpectedly, Michael hit a vein in her neck, forcing her into an unconscious state. He then caught her before her body hit the ground. Michael used his powers and erased her memories by touching her temple and exerting his power into it. “Let's go,” Michael said. Gabriel stood there shocked for a moment and then they disappeared.

When they reappeared they were on the school grounds. Michael gently lied Christiana on the ground. “Michael, are you sure you...” “It would be best to leave her here for now brother. Someone will find her. I'm sure of it.” “So, are you ready to go?” “Yes, brother Gabriel.” Before they departed, Michael caressed Christiana's face, and then disappeared once again.

Michael?” “Yes Gabriel.” “Are you upset?” “No, there is no reason for me to be angry. Yet, why do you ask?”

Did you know her?” “She is the girl I met yesterday.” So he met Christiana yesterday, and didn't even know it. I can't lie to him, but I wasn't expecting him to show up as he did. What will he do when he finds out she is the one. He'll be hurt, and I know it. I can't tell him that she is Christiana. “Michael...” “Gabriel, if there's something that you feel you need to say to me, then don't, let me find out on my own.” “But?” “Placidity, I beg you.” Equanimity have you fallen so quickly? “Fine. I will let you find out on your own, if that is your wish, Michael.” Michael smiled with some relief “Thank you, Gabriel.” As he turned to walk away from his well respected brother, Gabriel said, “ Whatever makes you happy. I know you'd do the same if I asked you to.”

I wonder where Harmonia is. She told me she was coming. Maybe she's still outside. I'll go check.” So Liza went outside and she seen a body laying there, glowing oddly in the dim light of the sun. She ran over to the body. “Huh? Harmonia!” The sound of Liza's voice woke her from the sleep. “Liza...” “Your alive!” “Am I supposed to be dead?” “I don't know. You said you were coming to class and you never came so I started to get worried and I was panicking then I said I would come outside to see if you were out here and you were laying on the ground unconscious!” “You're lucky that I'm used to your fast talking, and habit of not pausing on your words,” Christiana said laughing. “well, since you're okay, let's go to class.” “Sure, whatever.”

School bell rings. “Bye Harmonia! I'll see you at seven, so go get ready!” “Well, she just knows I was going to say yes.”

Home again, and still no sign of a mother,” Christiana said sighing. “Oh, well.” “I have all the time I'll need to get ready for the ball.” First, she took a long hot bath. She knew exactly what she was going to wear. She had the perfect ballroom dress. It was a haltered pure white dress. It was fitted all the way down to below the knees, and had a split on the side that trailed back up at least ten inches from her waist line. The bottom flared just enough, and the dress glittered and sparkled everywhere. She had done her nails and toes in a natural look, tipped in white, and glitter polish. Her heels were white with a large diamond V sitting in the centers. She wore a choker stained with diamond as well as diamond earrings and a diamond bracelet to match. Her hair was worn French braided up the back softly, with the front going back to meet it, and pinned in. The way it was pinned made it fall off to the side, ringed, going down of her head, swinging on the side of her neck. She also let two pieces of her hair hang curled in her face. She wore a white, mid length, fur coat over her dress because fall was nearing and it was a little cold.

She walked out of her door at 6:50 and a car was sitting outside of her door. It was Liza. She rolled down the window. “Come on pretty girl, let's go party. Christiana smiled and ran to the car that Liza's brother was driving to drop them off at the ball. “I thought you said,” “I know I told you to come to my house, but I couldn't let you kill yourself in those heels. And you look amazing. I'm so jealous!” Liza said laughing. “Look at you Liza. You're beautiful tonight.” “You're just saying that.” “No, I mean it.” “Well both of you are beautiful to me,” Liza's brother said. “Well thank you, Joel,” they both said smiling.

Well Gabriel, I'm going to leave now.” “You should. I'll be there in about an hour.” “Alright. I'll see you then,” Michael said and then disappeared. Enjoy yourself little brother. Be happy, until you find out the truth.

Wow! It's so beautiful in here,” Liza said. “Yeah,” remarked Christiana. “Well I'm going to go scope out the place, you coming.” “No, I'm going to go try and get a feel of the place Liza.” “Okay then. I'll call you when I need you.” “Okay.” I know she's going to go find some boy. As Christiana walked through the crowd, a lot of eyes were on her. The attention made her nervous, and as minutes passed, she began to get real nervous and tense. Michael had spotted her leaving and going out back, so he followed her to the garden.

He found her sitting next to the white roses. As she was looking down, she seen two feet, but didn't look up at his face. “Do you mind if I sit here?” Michael said. “No...not at all.” “Thank-you.” Michael sat down and smiled. “Is there something wrong with you, miss?” She sniffled, knowing he must have seen her tears. “No, nothing's wrong. I'm just fine, rea..lly.” She stumbled on her words when she looked up and realized it was Michael. “Michael?” “So you remember me?” He wiped her face with his handkerchief. “If the tears are gone, that means you're feeling better,” he said with a small laugh. Christiana smiled back. “That's good. You're smiling now.” She started to laugh as well. “You look beautiful tonight. Ever since I seen you yesterday, I've been waiting so anxiously to see your glowing face once more.” He made her blush. “Then maybe you'd be reluctant to know, that I've been thinking of you as well.” “Hmmn. That sounds like the start of some type of

relationship.” Christiana's smile grew more. She's so beautiful when she smiles. But...I'm afraid to ask who she is. She might be Christiana. The girl from the legend, but Gabriel said I'd know if it was her. Wait a minute...if this wasn't her, then why would Gabriel heal her so she wouldn't die? Why would he just respect my wish earlier? It's like and unlike him. “Are you okay Michael?” “I'm fine.” “That much, I think I know.” “Then in that case, I could say the same about you.” Michael stood up. “Would you like to go and dance? I mean , it is a ball after all.” She took his hand and they both felt a strange chill. It felt to them as if volts were shooting through both of their bodies, but it happened so quickly that it was like nothing did happen. “I'd like that.” “Out here or in there, because I've seen that you don't react well with a lot of eyes on you.” “I don't like attention. I never really have liked attention.” He grabbed her face and tilted it upward towards his own. She saw his eyes glow very oddly. “You're a beautiful girl, and I'm quite sure that you're aware of that. People can't help but pay attention to you. Well, at least I find it very hard to do. You're a likable person.” “What... why?” She pulled away from him. “Why does everyone say that? Why do people say they like me and I'm this and that? I don't even have that much respect for myself.”She stood, with her body turned from him, holding herself. Michael walked behind her, slowly. She felt him behind her, with his body drawing closer and closer to her own. When she felt his arms wrap around her own she gasped for air. He had slowly pushed his body together with hers until there was no space between them. “ You'll find your reason for living, but first, you have to give life a chance. If for some reason you died tonight, my heart would cry out for you.” “Why cry for...someone who you don't know well.” “It's the thought...the feeling that that person is someone special. Feeling connected to one person, gives a person without reason, a reason.” “Feeling connected...to one person, gives a person without reason....a reason. Have I given...me...given you reason?” “Honestly...yes...you have actually. Now my will is stronger.” Because of me? He has found reason. For once, I feel at peace. What is it about him that attracts me to him? If a guy like him, can look upon me with such standards, and feel like this after a day, then I should give things a chance. Christiana smiled again. “For you...Michael, I can give things a chance.” “I'm happy to hear it. But...” “But...what?” “I'd really love to dance with you.” “Well...let's not waste anymore time.” He let her go, and as they walked off, he felt it. He knew that it was her. The aura that Gabriel spoke about had unraveled. Michael's wanting for her was growing.

They made it back just in time for the slow songs. Christiana noticed how on edge Michael was, but didn't know why. “Are you..ready Michael?” He looked at her and smiled. “Yes.” He slowly put his hands around her waist and she slowly draped her arms around his neck. They danced silently for awhile, blushing and smiling at one another. By the third song got things going the way it should have.

Michael and Christiana had grown closer by the minute, physically and emotionally. She had rested her head on his chest and his grasp on her was never ending. Why am I doing this? Why? This is Christiana. I know it's her, but the more I try to pull away, the quicker I sink in. just like quicksand. I know that I can't just bite her like this. Just kill her after getting her to accept herself. Destroy the connection and trust we've made. What am I supposed to do?/ Michael. What's really going on? Am I really supposed to die tonight? Is what that person on the phone told me true? What could all of this mean, and him? Michael opened his eyes and seen his brother dancing with some girl near him. Gabriel was happy, but he wasn't, and this, Michael knew. His eyes rolled away from the sight of his brother and went back down to the side of Christiana's neck. Something began to draw up inside of him, desiring the blood of Christiana. He bit his lip to hold his composure, tasting his own blood instead. Then he felt something odd. He saw Gabriel looking around as well. Some of the males began to act strange. “Demons,” Gabriel said under-toned. Christiana caught a strange chill and she tightened her grasp on Michael with fear in her heart. “Oh, no,” Michael said. The demons started to attack innocent people, and they scattered everywhere. “Gabriel!” Gabriel, Michael, and Christiana disappeared in thin air. “Michael, what's going on!” “Calm yourself.” His sword appeared out of no where. “Tell me, what your name is.” “Michael...it's Christiana.” “I knew it was you.” “You knew? How? What's going on, Michael? Are you a...” “No! I am not a demon, and I never will be. I'm a Vampire.” “Vam...Vampire.” “Stay close by me and you'll be safe. They are here for you. They'll kill you if you don't cooperate. I promise that I'll explain this all to you later.” Gabriel appeared with his sword. “Are you ready, Michael?” “Yes Gabriel. Christiana, hold on to me.” “Okay.”

They appeared back in the ball room, and some of the demons had possessed the humans. They started to attack Michael and Gabriel. While Gabriel fought ruthlessly, Michael had his limits with Christiana holding on to him. She realized this and fled from the side of Michael. “Christiana! No!” He almost got hit worried about her. He knew that if he went after her now, then Gabriel would've been in some trouble. This all upset Michael and his Vampire powers rose. Gabriel also was upset to see how things had turned out. This was the flaw in the

plan. He didn't actually think that there would be these many possessing demons here, meaning they couldn't kill the possessed humans. They just had to fight, but no matter how hard, they would keep on coming nonstop. So, first they killed those who were in demon form, and then they began to fight with the possessed ones.

This is all my fault. This is all happening because of me. That's all Christiana could think about as she ran through the garden. She stopped, realizing she wasn't alone. “Who's there?” There were many demons surrounding her, and the leader was one in a human body. Christiana was shocked when she seen who it was. “Li..za? Liza!” “Ha! You really are pathetic. You have such amazing powers, and you haven't even been aware of it all of theses years. Nearly sixteen years of life has been wasted on you. Well, I know you won't argue about death, so just die.” “ I trusted you, all these years, and you were a demon.” “Learn this. You can trust no one but yourself in this world. And you know what? Michael and Gabriel aren't to be trusted either. How can you trust them in one day, and it took you twelve years to trust me?” Christiana dropped to her knees feeling pressured and dizzy. That's right. Accept your death.” Accept my death. Accept my death? I can't do that...not yet. I will not die to a demon. I cannot die to a demon. But...all this time, I've been living a lie. Why me? Why? God... “God...” Christiana mumbled, “why have you forsaken me?” Liza lifted her sword, and just as she was about to swing, Michael and Gabriel appeared. “You Vampires are too late!” “I don't believe that,” said Gabriel. “Believe what you will. Her soul has begun to break, and there will be no fixing it.” Christiana looked lost as more tears poured from her eyes. “Attack them!” Liza screamed. More demons appeared out of the shadows, and attacked Michael and Gabriel. They had no choice to but to fight if they wanted to save Christiana. Liza brought the blade down, and it cut Christiana's arm as she moved out of the way. “You want to play dodge the sword all of a sudden,” Liza said laughing.

In the shadows, the deadly sins lurked. “Who shall go?” Greed said. “I guess that Wrath should go. He would serve well for this type of problem. What do you say Wrath?” Vanity said. “Sure. Why not? I'll go.” “So what are the rest of us supposed to do Vanity? I need blood. And hers is...so sweet. I can taste it on the tip of my tongue now.” “Gluttony, calm yourself. You'll have your turn with her body,” Sloth said nonchalantly, “I can't believe they woke me for this.” “I'm so jealous of you Wrath. You get to have all the fun,” said Envy. “You should get going then,Wrath. Before she catches the girl.” “Right, Lust. This shouldn't take long,” Wrath replied, and then he faded away.

Stop running now Harmonia, you're making it hard for me to kill you.” Christiana had hidden behind a tree. She stood trying to regain her breath, consciousness, and focus. What am I going to do? I can't keep running like this. I can't let Michael and Gabriel risk it all for me. Wrath appeared before her. “Shh,” he whispered to her. “Would you like to help them?” “Help..who?” “Your friends.” “Ye...yes.” Wrath pressed his body against hers, against the tree with desire filling his voice. “Would you accept my help?” A slight moan came from Christiana but she managed to get out a yes in between. “You must be willing to help them with all that you are feeling now. Let it go and turn it into anger for me.” “An...ger?” “Only then can I help you. If you cannot do this, then I shall take my leave.” In his heart, Wrath was smiling, being drawn to Christiana's soul every time she spoke with her sweet, frightened voice, containing her anger and bitterness. This is my only chance. My only way. “I accept your offer.” “Great,” Wrath said through his fangs. “You will feel a slight pain, and then see darkness. When you see the dark light, you will see me again.” He held her face up to his with his hand. He loved the anger in her eyes, and his aura, was mixing with hers. “Your soul knows my name. Now say it for me,” Wrath said aggressively. Christiana smiled, “Wrath.” There was a blinding light, clearing the area. It was Wrath and Christiana joining bodies. There powers' mixing caused the bright light.

What was that?” Gabriel said. He seen his brother's eyes enlarge with shock and disdain in them. Then Michael whispered, “Christiana...” Christiana walked out of the woods with a large smile on her face, yet her tears were still pouring. “Are you finally ready to accept death?” Liza said. “Humph. Are you?” Christiana said. She slowly walked towards Liza, then picked up speed and ran. Liza tried to block her with the sword, but she jumped on the edge in the blink of an eye, and kicked Liza in the face. She flipped in the air, and then caught the sword that had flown from Liza's hands. “Who is this? It's not Christiana?” “Your wrong. I'm just not the side of her you know.” Christiana beheaded Liza without any remorse in her eyes. She looked up at Michael, and then to Gabriel. She ran toward their ways and started to slay the demons attacking them.

Each time she killed another demon, she became more pleased. The real Christiana had even stopped crying, and became attached to her wrath filled side. She stopped after killing the last one and stood very happy. Inside

of herself, inside of her mind, she felt a strong power and then seen a dark light. Just as Wrath had said, her eyes were upon him again, but he looked looked different to her. He was still very handsome, though she hadn't mentioned it before, but he had wings expanding from his back. The one on his right side was a dark wing, and then one on his left was a bright white wing. He walked towards her smiling. The closer he got to her, the stronger she felt, and it was something she was growing to like. “Are you ready to part souls with me?” She rolled her eyes off in another direction, and looked downward wanting the guilty pleasure to leave her, and so without any more thought, she replied. “Yes, I am.” He smirked a little, and held her close to him. “Say my name, and I'll leave you,” he said with a softening voice. She hesitated to say his name, but managed to get it out. “Wrath..” she whispered feeling that same sadness. He slowly disappeared, and it seemed to be said in the wind, but she heard Wrath say, “I'm a little disappointed. I wasn't ready to let go.”

Christiana opened her eyes, and then turned her head to the boy standing a few feet behind her. “Christi...Christiana.” Michael said. Michael. She seen how he had looked, then she looked around at all of the dead demon bodies, and one in particular caught her eye. It was Liza's head and her body. Her heart stopped, and the tears wanted to start again, but she held them. She dropped the sword, and ran back into the building . She looked at all of the people who were still possessed, and hung her head. Then she looked back up with her eyes shinning brightly. All at once, the demons jumped towards her. She stood fearless. She motioned her hands, locking the right one behind her left one, and then she closed her eyes and pushed forward. All the demons stopped in mid motion, and when her eyes opened, beams of light shot through every body. The demons had been destroyed by those mysterious beams of light, that healed every human, and gently placed them unconscious on the floor.

Inside the castle of Calamity, Wrath and Vanity were having a discussion. “Wrath?” “What is it Vanity?” “What did you do to her?” “Trust me...I didn't really do anything. She has a strong will when it comes to something she wants done. I only increased her power. Her anger guided her to kill.” “So how is she?””Vanity...my friend. You'd like her. Just those few minutes I spent with her was paradise. It will keep me awake for at least another month. You're the one who needs to join souls with her. At most, you have 2 days left.” “I know, but what difference would it make. You know it is written in the end, there will be a world without sin. One less for now wouldn't really matter.” Wrath started to become angry. “Vanity....” Wrath started grinding his teeth and fangs. “You act like no one cares of you. Even sinners have feelings. Why are you acting this way?” “Wrath. Calm yourself!” Wrath sat back down, and sat quietly. “We are not the sinners, we are the sins. And I know that we have feelings, but what are we in God's eyes? Why has he created us just to destroy us? It makes no sense.” “So you're going to shelter yourself from everything!” Vanity looked at Wrath who had tears in his eyes and blood in his fangs. Vanity too had tears falling, and he was hurting inside, but he knew showing is emotions as Wrath was would put a strain on his life. He rose to his feet and walked towards Wrath. He embraced his friend. “Wrath. In case my time leaves sooner than expected, in case I cannot be held in the body of the St. Christiana, you have to be strong. You have to watch the others, especially Greed and Envy. They are not to be trusted.” “Vanity. I can't do this...” “I know that you can.” Vanity released Wrath and walked off. “Wrath?” “Yes Vanity?” “Get some rest,” Vanity said and walked out of the room.

When Vanity reached his room, his pain had increased. I can't take much more of this. I can't keep going on this way. Vanity slowly walked over to his bed, and then he fell in it. He slowly and tightly clenched his sheets, trying to get over the pain. Christiana...Christiana. Vanity feel asleep.

When Christiana had finished, she started to walk back home. Michael ran and caught her. “Where are you going?” She couldn't look at Michael. She felt guilty, and ashamed. She then turned and bowed to Michael, “I'm sorry, please forgive me Michael...and you to Gabriel.” She turned to run off, and then Gabriel appeared before her. “This is not your fault,” Gabriel said. “Yeah, it's ours,” Michael replied. “But how? I don't understand.” “To sum things up. There's a war between Vampires and demons, and through you and you only can the war be ended. The demons want your powers so they can overthrow God. The Vampire groups have split into two, so some may be after you. They belong to the Lone group and we belong to the Pure group.” Gabriel said. Michael showed Christiana the mark on his neck. “Every one who is with us has this mark on their necks. Check if another Vampire ever approaches you.” “Why is this happening?” “I wish we knew why Christiana, but we don't, at least not yet.” Michael finished. “We'll take you home, and you need to get out of that dress, and then burn it. Demon blood can bring that demon back to life. When you bathe, do it in blessing oil, and burn that dress in it as well.” Gabriel said. They ported her to her room. “Is my mother here?” “No. No

one else is here,” Michael said. “Will you be okay alone?” “Yes. I should be fine. Thank you two.” “We'll come back in the morning to check on you.” They turned to leave, but she ran and embraced them both. “What's this for?” Gabriel said. “Everything. I trust you two. Please don't prove me wrong.” They smiled then disappeared. “We promise,” she heard in a whisper. She quickly took off all of her clothes, and grabbed her holy oil off of her dresser, along with her cross bracelet. She crossed her heart and head, then ran downstairs, with a towel wrapped around her. She threw the clothes into the fire place and threw the holy oil on it. As it burned, she heard horrific screams. She just let it all burn. Then she ran to the bathroom, and ran her bath water. She poured a whole bottle of holy oil into the tub, and slowly climbed in. For a moment,it felt as if she was being electrocuted, and then it was a calming feeling. She sat there soaking in the hot blessed water. Incidentally, she feel asleep in the tub.

Dream Reality

Where am I?” Christiana said laying in a field of grass and cherry blossoms. She got up. “My hair...is longer...and these clothes. This is weird.” She had on a white halter top, and a white long skirt that had two long splits going up the sides. She had something tied around both her arms. They were pieces of cloth that flared out, and were really long. She had a cherry blossom head crown on and she was beautiful.

She walked through the flowers and grass until she came across a body under a cherry blossom tree. A tan colored male with long black hair, dark eye lashes, and brows. He appeared asleep to her with his back against the tree in an almost slouched position. His hair fell draped over his left shoulder where his robe was halfway on. She starred at him, almost like she was drawn to him, but bound by something, saying to her not to go any closer. He felt her eyes on him and he woke up, opening his eyes slowly. His eyes where a light brown with green and black swirled inside that light brown iris. He appeared sad and sick, and Christiana could tell. He looked at her and then closed his eyes again. She moved towards him, with the attraction growing stronger. He reopened his eyes, with Christiana now inches away. He got stood slowly, a little off balance. “Christiana.” “Who are you? How do you know my name?” He leaned back against the tree.” “You know my name...too.” He winced in pain. “Are you hurt? Is there anything that I can do?” “Stay away from me, for your own good.”He turned and attempted to walk off, and slightly stumbled. “Vanity...that's your name isn't it? Let me help you. Please.” “Don't...please don't say my name again.” “But...” “No. Please understand.” Christiana walked behind him, and slipped her arm underneath his. When her hand touched his chest, he caught a chill he couldn't shake. “Christiana? Don't do this.” “But...I don't know how I know your name...or how I know what I'm supposed to do, but let me do it if I can save you.” She was getting to him. Her voice was almost hypnotizing. He quickly pinned her to the tree, unable to contain the sinning side of himself. The look in his eyes put fear in Christiana's heart. Unwillingly, she began to tremble. When Vanity realized what he was doing, he released his hold on her. “This is why I'm telling you to leave me be.” “What kind of person would I be if I did that? Van...” “What do I have to do to make you stop saying my name?” She started crying, “Let me help you...I can see that you're in pain. Do you like to hurt!” This was indeed turning him on, and soon he would have no control. “Christiana...” “See! You can't even finish a sentence without pausing or a long sigh.” His hand held her face. “Why are you worried? Why does my pain bother you?” “Because...I can feel some of your pain. The closer I am, the more it hurts, and in some twisted way, I like it. What are you?” Vanity shifted their bodies, and holding her, they sat against the tree.

He took a deep breath. “I'm a demon of a seven sin.” “The sin you are, is your name?” “Yes, unfortunately. If we don't possess someone who is in the act of committing our sin, after a certain period of time, we get sick, and then die. I'm willing to accept my death, and I always will accept it until the day that I die.” “That's any day now right?” “Yeah.” “Why rush death?” “Why waste life?” “Isn't there someone who wants you to stay alive? I know that there is someone.” “Wrath...” “And isn't there anyone you want to live for, if not for yourself.” Vanity was silent. “Why are you still crying?” “I don't know. I feel sad...but I'm happy...some mixed emotions I guess. And this is so strange. It's like a dream or something.” Vanity was starring down at her strangely. She looked up at him, and seen that he was crying as well. “Why are you crying?” Vanity reached in his robe pocket and pulled out a pearl dropped necklace. It was shimmering like the tears in his eyes. He put it around Christiana's neck, and it fell in between her breast. “I don't know...why I am crying,” he said in her ear, all while his hand was trailing down the line of that necklace. He stopped where the halter had started. She was afraid for some reason, but still was enjoying it, the company, and the pleasure. She didn't realize that he could feel her fear, and that's what had made him stop. Fear. The fear of hurting her, or hurting himself. Something

was telling Christiana to pull away from him, and the moment she attempted with little force, he pulled her back to him, not wanting to let her go. She released a small gasp not wanting to alarm him. His hand against her stomach was warm. He was warm, and she could feel him breathing deeply against her back, while she could hear him in her ear. “What is this I'm feeling?” This is what Wrath was talking about. “I...don't know what you're feeling...but I'm feeling something...strange...” “Then...let's just...let it...hap...pen....” Vanity kissed Christiana, hesitantly at first, but then, it turned into something more. His pain no longer was bothering him, and her fear was leaving. Both were now anxious and curious.

Vanity lied Christiana on the grass, still kissing her softly. She held her hands between them to push upward on his chest if something had become too much. With the minute passing, somehow, Vanity had slid his arms between them and soon had her hands pinned down to the ground with his own. Slowly, those kisses trailed down her neck, and then down to the middle of her chest. For a moment he just lied there, listening to her heart beat and playing with the bracelet on her wrist. Incidentally it ended up on his wrist, and Christiana smirked a little. He started to kiss her once more, and was delighted as her body squirmed and shook beneath him. He stopped again, but not because of fear. Christiana was saying, “I can't...breathe.” “What's wrong?” He stopped and let her go. They both sat up. He started to feel the same thing that she was. He was losing his breath as well. It appeared to them that they were drifting away from each other. But they kept reaching out. “Christiana!”

End of Dream Reality

Christiana woke up gasping for air out of the tub water. “Vanity..” She wiped her face and strayed her hair to the back. “It was a dream?” She went down the side of her neck and felt something. It was a necklace. Not just any necklace. It was the one that Vanity had given to her in the “dream”, and her bracelet was missing.

Vanity woke up clenching his fists. “Christiana...it was a dream.” He was sweating, but his pain was gone for the time being. “My pain...” He looked down in his hand and seen Christiana's bracelet, and then he reached in his robe pocket. The necklace was gone.

It wasn't a dream.” Both said.

At least thirty minutes had gone by. Christiana was out of the tub and lying on her bed, thinking about everything that had happened. Vampires, demons, sins, gods. All of these things make no sense. What's really going on? I know that there has to be more to the story, and I want to know everything. It seems I'm the center of everything, and powers? What of powers and why is it I know things now that I've never really known? I'm feeling things that don't feel right, but I'm liking it. Michael? Gabriel? Wrath? Vanity? These guys. They've come out of nowhere, and though they are different, I feel as if I can trust them all. But, Gabriel, I've met him before. Somewhere...a long time ago. Does he remember me? Michael is his younger brother, and in ways, I have a connection with him, ye
