CHAPTER 26

A few minutes later Justin reappeared in the room. “Babe, I got you a flight from LAX, it leaves in two hours.”

I got out of bed and walked over to him. “Thank you so much.” I said kissing him. “Is there any way you can come with me?” I asked hopefully.

“No problem. Unfortunately I can’t come with you tonight, but I can fly out tomorrow night. I mean if you want me to.” he said.

“Of course I want you to, but if you are busy I understand.’

“No I am not busy, not busy enough that it can’t be put on hold.”

“If you have something you need to do don’t worry about me. I will be fine.”

“No I am worried about you and it can wait until we get back. It isn’t important enough to keep me from being by your side.” He said pulling me close to him.

I leaned in and kissed him. “Thank you for your help.”

“You’re welcome. Now you better get ready.”

“Ok.” I said.

He helped me pack a suitcase. I wasn’t sure how long I would be there. I was assuming only a few days so I packed lightly.

After we had finished I looked at the time. It was 5:30. My flight was going to leave at 7:00. I made a call to my cousin to see if she would pick me up at the airport. She had agreed and would meet me there. It only took about 15 minutes to get to LAX, so I sat down on my bed next to Justin. He looked sad. “What’s wrong?” I asked him taking his hand in my own.

“I’m going to miss you.”

“Babe you will see me tomorrow.”

“I know, but still I just finally got you back in my life and now I have to be without you for another night.”

I smiled, “well then I will give you something to remember me by.” I said pushing him down on the bed and climbing on top of him.

He smiled and kissed me. I slid off of him and stood up. I slowly began to take off my shirt, but just as I was about to pull it off Justin’s phone rang. He groaned and reached over to grab it and answered. “Hello.”

I headed back into the bathroom to make sure that I had everything I needed. As I was standing there picturing everything I had put into my suitcase Justin appeared at my side. “Well, I guess I will have to remember you in a different way your flight has been moved up to 6:30.” he said kissing the top of my head.

“Shit.” I said.

I ran into my room to make another call to my cousin. I informed her of the changes and she said that it was ok and that she would be there when I landed.

“Can I drive you to the airport?” he asked.

“Of course.” I said kissing him.

He grabbed my bag and we made our way out to his car. He put my bag in the trunk as I slid into the passenger seat of his car. I pulled out my phone and made another call, this time to Camille. I explained everything that was going on. She told me not to worry that everything would be fine and to call her and let her know how things went. As I hung up the phone Justin slid into the drivers seat started the car and we were on our way.

After arriving at the airport checking in and claiming my tickets, I had 10 minutes before my flight left. Justin stood in front of me near the gate entrance. He wrapped his arms around me. “I love you. As soon as I leave I’ll arrange another flight there for myself and a car so that you don’t have to come and get me. I’ll get us a flight back too ok?”

“Ok, thank you baby, and I love you too.” I said kissing him and hugging him tighter to me.

“Call me as soon as your flight lands ok?” he said pleadingly.

“Ok I will. I love you and I will talk to you in a few hours.”

“Ok. I love you too.”

We kissed one more time and I turned and walked towards the gate. After handing the woman my ticket. I turned around and waved at Justin. He smiled and waved back. He mouthed the words I love you. I blew a kiss at him and made my way to the plane.

As I sat there in my first class window seat my mind began to drift. I wondered if Justin had remembered what I told him in our heated phone conversation the day the magazine incident happened. I did. I had told him my father was an asshole. He was. He neglected me as a child and left my mother and I with nothing and now here I was rushing to see him. As much as I hated him for what he did to my mom and I. I knew that I still loved him and that he was still my father whether I wanted him to be or not.

When the plane finally landed I was relieved. I couldn’t take sitting there anymore. I wanted to call Justin and tell him that I missed him already. I exited the plane and walked through the terminal until I spotted my cousin Jessi. She ran over to me and hugged me. “Are you okay?” she asked worried.

“Yeah I’m fine.” I said feeling a little nauseas again. “I just have been feeling kind of sick today. It must have been something I ate.”

“Or you could be pregnant.” she said jokingly trying to lighten the mood.

“Oh my god.” I said out loud.

“What?” Jessi asked sounding terrified.

“I might be pregnant.”
