CHAPTER 25

I woke up the next morning to hear Justin in the shower. I felt horrible I realized when I rolled over onto my back. I was going to get up, but I felt so awful I just pulled the covers closer to my body. I rolled back over onto my side and closed my eyes wishing this feeling would go away.

“Baby, wake up.” Justin said.

I opened my eyes and rolled over to look at him.

“What’s wrong?” he asked as a look of worry appeared on his face.

“Nothing I just feel a little sick that’s all.”

“Aw is there anything I can do for you?” he asked.

“Yes.” I answered.

“What’s that?”

“Will you lay here with me?” I asked feeling a wave of nausea hit me. “Oh god I think I am gonna throw up.” I said. I got out of bed and half ran for the bathroom. As soon as I made it to the toilet it all came out. Justin came over to me.

“Here put this on.” he said holding out my robe.

He slid it over my arms and I pulled it tight around my waist.

“Are you okay?” he asked concerned.

“I think so.” I answered looking up at him.

He helped me up and into the shower. While I was showering he went into my room and found some comfortable clothes for me to wear. When I was finished he handed me a towel and helped me get dressed. He carried me back to my room and laid me back down in my bed. “Now to answer your question. Yes I will lay here with you and I will all day if that’s what you want.”

He got into the bed with me and pulled the covers over us. I scooted over closer to him and laid my head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around me.

“There’s something I want to ask you. Well, two things actually.”

“What babe?” I asked.

“Well, this weekend I have to go to the MTV awards in Vegas, and I was wondering if you would be on my arm, as my girlfriend?”

I didn’t say anything at first.

“I don’t know what to say?” I said shocked.

“Say yes.” he replied kissing me lightly.

“Yes.” I said feeling myself tearing up.

“Oh baby.” he said pulling me into his lap. “I love you so much.”

“I love you too.” I said kissing him, “Does this mean I am your girlfriend now?” I asked happily.

“Yes, baby. I am yours and you are mine.” he said touching the finger I had placed the ring he gave me on.

We snuggled back into each other and Justin turned on my TV Nip Tuck was on so we settled in to watch it.

A little while later my phone rang. I opened it and answered, “Hello.”

“Kate it’s Grandma.”

“Hi Grandma,” I said.

“Honey, I wanted to call you and tell you that your dad got in a car accident.”

“What?” I said shocked, “Is he okay?”

“Yes, he is alright, but he is in the hospital and he keeps asking for you. I wanted to call you and tell you. Is there anyway you can come home?”

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Justin staring at me with a worried expression.

“Yeah I’m sure I can find a way to get there. I love you Grandma and tell him I will be there as soon as I can.”

“Ok I love you too honey. Bye.”

“Bye.” I replied hanging up the phone.

As soon as I had hung up my phone I immediately started to cry.

“What baby? What’s wrong?” Justin asked sounding terrified.

“My dad got in a car accident. He is ok, but I have to find a way to get there.”

Without saying a word Justin picked up his phone and dialed in a number. He left the room. I was tempted to follow since I was feeling completely normal now, but decided he had left the room for a reason.
