CHAPTER 23

After we were both in the car and on our way, to wherever this place was that he was taking me, I laid my head back against the head rest and closed my eyes. I drank in the scent of his cologne. A smell I couldn’t forget even if I tried. There was soft music leaking out of the car speakers that I couldn’t Identify. I was comfortable so I began to drift off to sleep. My head slid from the rest to his shoulder.

I awoke to Justin lightly kissing my forehead. I jumped and pulled away. “Sorry.” he apologized.

“It’s ok you just scared me that’s all.”

I looked out the windshield to find that we were at the beach. I smiled. “Now Don’t be disappointed we’re not there yet, we have a short walk ahead of us.” Justin said.

“Ok.”

We got out of the car and made our way towards each other. We walked out onto the warm sand and I decided the trip would be easier if I took of my flip flops. I slid them off my feet and slung them between my fingers. I breathed in the warm sea air and smiled to myself. Our walk was completely silent. We just listened to our feet crunch into the sand and the warm wind that was blowing off the water. Justin took my hand. I looked at him he was staring down at his feet. He looked perfect the bright white moon illuminating his perfect features. As I was staring at him I didn’t notice that he had stopped. “We’re here.” He said looking to me.

I looked up to see a part of the beach I had never saw. It was beautiful, Jagged rocks jutting out of the sand. “Wow,” I said squeezing Justin’s hand in my own.

“I know. It’s beautiful isn’t it?”

“Beautiful doesn’t even begin to describe it.” I said in awe.

He lead me over to a one of the rocks and lifted me up onto it. He hopped up after and sat next to me. “So, how have you been?” he asked awkwardly.

“Can we just skip the small talk, we both know why we are hear.” I said.

He sighed, “yeah.”

I closed my eyes trying to find the words to tell him how I felt.

“You know you were right.” I said.

“Right about what?” he asked confused.

“That night you said that I wouldn’t have helped you unless I loved you.”

“Yeah what was I right about.”

“I did love you.” I said looking down at my hands.

He lifted my face to his and smiled at me. I thought I saw tears welling in his eyes.

“I’ve really missed you.” I said looking straight into his eyes.

“I’ve missed you too. I just want you to know I am sorry for everything that has happened Kate. I wished every day that I could go back and change everything that happened.”

“I did too.”

He put his arm around me and I laid my head on his shoulder. For a while we just sat there together not saying anything.

“You look so beautiful right now,” he said, “ with the wind blowing through your hair, you just look perfect.”

I smiled. “I love you.”

“It feels so good to hear you say that. I love you too baby.”

I jumped down from the rock and pulled off my jacket. “It’s hot.” I said laughing.

“Yeah it is.” he agreed.

I started walking towards the water.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“Swimming.” I replied as I started taking the rest of my clothes off.

He laughed and jumped off the rock and started peeling his clothes off as well. When I was down to my bra and panties I took off running towards the water. I could hear Justin catching up with me. Before I knew it he was behind me. He lifted me up and continued running. I screamed and laughed. When we were in the water he let me down and wrapped his arms around me waist. The water was warm, but cooled my hot skin. I looked into Justin’s eyes. They were focused on me. He leaned forward and kissed me lightly on the lips. Our kiss became more hungry as we both parted our lips. I moaned into his mouth in pure bliss. I was in love and I had the one I wanted more than anything standing in front of me feeling the same way. Our kiss intensified and I felt his hands roaming my body. My once cool skin was hot again and was pressed up against his. I pulled away and said, “Let’s go back to my house.”

“Ok,” he said breathlessly.

We made out way back up the beach and grabbed out clothes. He handed me his white button down shirt. “Here put this on.”

“Ok thank you.”

“You’re welcome angel.” he said smiling.

He took my hand and lead me back to his car. “We’ll go back to the restaurant first, so we can get your car.”

“Ok, but hurry.”

“Why?” he asked smiling, “you miss having sex with me?”

“Shut-up.” I said laughing. “I know you miss me.”

“I do.” He said, “more than you will ever know, you are the most amazing girl I have ever had the pleasure of sexing.”

I laughed. “Sexing?” I said laughing.

“Yes, sexing.” he said laughing with me.

We drove back to the restaurant. By then I had slid my pants back in. He put the car in park and leaned over the seat and kissed me. Our tongues met and our hands were all over each other.

“Ok.” I said pulling away, “I’ll see you at my house.”

“alright.” he said slapping my ass as I got out of the car.

I laughed and ran to my car.
