Bloods and Crips have never got along and never will. I seem to deify that possibility. I’m friends with George. He is second in command of the bloods. He tells me all the time I could get jumped for hanging out with him. I do it anyway; I don’t care what anyone says. In the words of Lil Wayne “I’m me” Don’t matter who I roll with you can’t stop me from being friend with I want to be friends with, or being who I am.
The bloods had spotted me and I need to get away fast; I had no back up. I had no choice but to veer off into the woods, but it was too late. Their footsteps became quicker and I knew they were running after me. I had to think of a way to get away from them I was running out of time. That’s when my clumsiness took over, thank god it did. I tripped and fell right into a ditch. They didn’t see me and just kept running. I waited until I didn’t hear their footsteps anymore and I started to climb out. I slipped when I tried to get out of the ditch but someone caught my hand. I looked up to see George, my best friend, staring at me.
“What are you doing here?”He asked me as he pulled me up and out the ditch.
“Trying to escape from your little crew that just came after me.” I responded with attitude.
“I know that I mean what are you doing this far away from your territory you know this is blood land.”
“Last time I checked this was a free country and I could do or go where I want.”
“Kristina why are you so stubborn.”
“I am not stubborn! I had no breakfast and I’ve had a bad day, besides I was just chased after in 100 degree weather.”
“Okay so I see your point.”
“Come on I’ll take you home.”
“Won’t you get in trouble?”
“Yes but does it look like I care at the moment. Besides would you rather go home?”
I looked at him suspiciously. Did he know what had happened? A shiver went up my back as I thought back to earlier in the morning.
“On second thought yes I would love to go home with you.”
George laughed “I thought so. Come on my car is parked by the McDonalds on the other side of the street.”
“I wondered how you got over here so fast!” I punched his arm playfully. Then I ran off; I wanted him to chase me.
“I will get you, you’re not that fast!” He yelled behind me. Witch he knew was wrong because I was on track and made first in almost all the races I was in. For him though, I ran slowly, I wanted him to get him; to wrap me up in his arms. I wanted to feel safe and at the moment he was my only safety. My mind started to think back to this morning but I forced myself not to.
Suddenly I was on the ground. I had been turned in mid-fall and now George was on top of me. I looked up into his brown eyes. I could have stayed that way forever, him on top of me. Then it happened. His face came closer to mine, and his lips met mine. His warm kiss sent a sensation through my whole body, but just as quickly as it started; it ended.
“Wh…What was that for?” I stuttered slowly.
“I don’t know I just …..I don’t know.”
I could see in his eyes confusion. Maybe because of the fact that George goes out with Cierra; she is in New York for the summer though. Which I didn’t get why Chad wanted to hunt me down for being friends with George, but Cierra can go out with him and he is cool?! Then I thought if he even knew if they were dating, they didn’t act like they did. They haven’t even gone on one single date yet. You could hardly call them boyfriend and girlfriend.
“Are you going to get up anytime soon?” I was so lost in my own thoughts I hadn’t realized George was already up and dusting himself off.
My face turned red but you couldn’t really tell if it was from the heat or embarrassment. I stood up slowly and began brushing the dirt off of me. George started walking off and I just followed him in silence. Neither of us spoke on the way to his car.
