Dreams Unwanted

The hot sun beating down on my neck, felt as though I was a human frying pan.

As I walked down the clean sidewalk, I looked around the neighborhood. The lawns were trimmed neatly, houses freshly painted, bushes and shrubs shaped as animals. I liked this kind of neighborhood.

Iwalked through a gate that leads to my house. My house was not like the others, it was a victorian house.

I unlocked the front door and once inside I checked the answering machine, which  showed that I had no new calls.

I wandered into the livingroom and picked up a picture of me and my brother Eric, who was older than me. He was like no other brother. He would be there for me and love me no matter what I did. I put down the picture and strolled into the kitchen to get something to snack on.

Once I finally found what I wanted I went to my room, which was my own private world. I laid on my bed exhausted from my senior classes. Soon I fell alseep.

I usually had dreams of my boyfriend Jeremy Spart, who was also another person who filled my heart with joy.

I dreamt that my mother had gotten into an accident going home from work.

I bolted up and looked around my room, wiping off persperation from my neck and forehead. I got off the bed and walked to the bathroom to wash my face. As I was walking to the room, the phone rang, I picked it up and said,"hello?"

" Is this Sharon Mandel?" Said the unfamiliar voice.

" Yes, this is her. May I ask who is calling>"

"This is Deputy Frosker. I have a report on your mother. She Was...Has gotten into an accident earlier today. It was a collision with a semi."

My heart was thumping out of control, persperation racing down my forehead making me dizzy. Then I lost consciousness.

I bolted up and looked around with a feeling of nausea rising up my throat. The dream was so real, that now I felt shaken.

Before I could rush to the bathroom to wash up, the phone rang.

The feeling of dread rose up as though it has been covered up for a long time. I picked up the phone and spoke in a low voice.

" hello?"

"Is this Sahron Mandel?"

The dread stayed in the pit of my stomach. I felt dizzy.

"Yes, this is her."

"Your mom won't be coming home today."

I couldn't bear it, I started sobbing uncontrollably.

"Hey! Don't cry! It's me your brother Eric."

How DARE you make a prank call like that! Didn't mom tell you not to continue doing it?!"

"Sorry sis, cool-down. I called to tell you that i'm at Jeremy's,and we will be there to keep you company. I love you sis. And I don't like that you are there alone.

"That's sweet Eric, I love you too. Around what time will you be here?"

"Around 6:00."

"I'll see you then."

After hanging up, I had felt alot better since the nightmare had shaken up my spirits.

At around 5:50, I went down stairs and turned on the television to the weather channel.

While they were describing the todays forecast, it was interuppted for a "special report". The Newslady spoke briefly of the report.

"We have just reported an accident on Rockard Ave. The driver Eric Mandel and passenger Jeremy Spart were driving on I-95, when they lost control of the vehicle, and collided with an oncoming semi. Friends of Mandel and Spart, say that they were heading home to visit Mandel's sister, in which he hasn't seen in 4 years.
