I almost died.

when I had Gabby, she got stuck because she was facing up instead of down, so they had to do a c-section. Good thing because she was starting to go into distress. They got her out ok, and oh my god she was just beautiful. You should have seen her, she looked like an angel. They gave her to matt so that he could help get her cleaned off and weighed and such. Thinking it would be a few minutes and I would be going back to the room, I went back to sleep.
Two hours later, I woke up and I was still in O.R.
that was the first sign something was up.
The knock-out doctor(whatever you call them, can't spell it anyway) was standing over me with this "oh shit" look on his face, and I asked him why they were giving me blood. He told me that my uterus wasn't closing fully like it was supposed to and that they were trying to stop the bleeding but nothing was working. I heard the doctors on the phone calling people at Vanderbilt, Erlinger, Cenntenial, and Baptist hospitals. No one could figure out how to make it stop. There was blood all over.
But in the middle of everything, I felt a hand stroking my hair and Grandpa telling me everything was going to be allright, and not to worry. See Grandpa died just over a year ago, and I've missed him, but he told me that I wasn't going anywhere and that I hd to raise a good great-granddaughter for him.
So I told the doctor that if you can't make it stop bleeding, take it out. I told them to make sure and tell matt and mom that I was allright and not to worry either, cause I knew they would be worrying themselves into a frenzy, which they were. they had to get the ok to do the hysterectomy from matt but there really wasn't a choice. do it or die.
I didn't get back to the room until almost 5 am. i had gone in at 11:30 pm. mom and matt both ended up getting sick after worrying so much but that's understandable.
I'm just so glad everything turned out ok and that she's healthy, but mostly that I'm here to see it. And to tell you the truth, I was more worried about mom and matt than I was myself. Isn't that strange?
