Chris got me a beer before finally deciding to talk to Kristen.

“You can do it!” I encouraged him with a smile. He held both his thumbs up with a sarcastic smile. As soon as Chris was gone I felt the odd coldness in the room intensify; another chill ran down my spine. My head wasn’t feeling the greatest and I began to get a little dizzy. What the hell is going on? I asked myself as I steadied myself on the counter. Bathroom; just get to the bathroom and take a breather, I told myself over and over again. I headed farther down the hallway searching for a bathroom, and I noticed that the more I moved away from the party the colder I became. I turned to my left in front of a door that I thought should be the bathroom.

“Danielle” I heard my name, it was the voice of the person that had pushed me off the roof in my dream. I cringed away from the door afraid to open it.

“Danielle!” Michelle said from the end of the hallway “There you are! I have been looking for you everywhere!” she placed a hand on my shoulder as she walked over to me. “What are you doing back here?” she asked.

“Bathroom?” I smiled shyly. She laughed.

“This way” she grabbed my hand and pulled me back to the party. The air was still cold but after being in the hallway alone the party air felt considerably warmer.

Shells led me to the bathroom and then pulled me to the dance floor when I was done. I laughed and drank another cup of beer, but not matter how hard I tried the sound of the voice saying my name still rang in my head like a constant warning of danger. Midnight rolled around and a sudden sleepiness came over me. I pulled Michelle in close yelling over the music into her ear.

“I think I am going to call it a night.” I said. She looked at me with a sad face. For someone I nearly had to drag here she didn’t seem to want to leave. I think it had something to do with the fact that a tall cute guy with blond wispy hair had caught her eye and they had been dance for awhile now.

“I’ll meet you back at the house. Don’t worry I will be fine.” I assured her worrying face. I laughed at her as I walked away. I walked out the door expecting the coldness to go away, but it didn’t. I wrapped my arms around myself and started the 5 block walk home. It was a pretty quiet night I noticed the farther I walked from the party, the only noise accompanying me was the click clack of my heels on the pavement.

“Danielle” I froze instantly turned around slowly expecting someone to be there but there was no one. I shook my head telling myself I was just hearing things. I turned to start walking again but someone stood in front of me.

“Hello Danielle” he said in an icy voice. He was much taller than me and his dirty blond hair stuck up on end and he had a small go tee. His eyes so dark, black as night. His lips curved into a smile around his sharp white teeth. He had on mostly dark clothing and his skin was as very pale.

“Come with me” he said in a very attractive tone as he brushed his frigid hand across my face. My entire body was shaking but I could not move, part of my wanted to follow him into the darkness of the ally but I knew that was not something I wanted to do. I planted my feet and concentrated very hard on not moving.

“Follow me” he said in a harsher tone.

“No” I whispered he looked at me appalled like he had never been refused before.

“She is strong willed” said a feminine voice from the ally.

“I can handle this Elvira!” the man growled at her. I couldn’t breath. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t move. I couldn’t feel my body beneath me. I wanted to shout out for but I couldn’t and something told me even if I had shouted for help it wouldn’t have mattered.
