I gave in to Chris’s begging, I was going to the party. Chris went home reluctantly after about 2 hours of studying. Chris was not a lucky as I had been in the roommate department. Chris shared an apartment right off campus with 3 other guys, so you can imagine how bad it smells in that place. Although I have to give Chris some credit his room is the only one that doesn’t smell all that rank.

“Please tell me you are going to this party tonight” I whined as I slumped down on the couch next to Michelle. She glared at me.

“Are you serious?! No way in hell! Don’t you know that the party is Nathan’s ‘welcome home’ party?” she screeched.

“Oh that is bull shit and you know it! Half the people going don’t even know Nathan. That is just an excuse to throw a part!”

“Still I am not going” she sighed taking a sip of her juice box.

“You are the biggest 5 year old I have ever met!” I snorted. She ignored me and continued watching her TV. That was it I couldn’t take it anymore. “Okay Shells I mean this in the nicest way possible but…” I paused for effect “GET OVER IT! Nathan probably doesn’t even remember it! And again not to be mean but he probably doesn’t even remember you! So you are getting off this couch and going to this party with me!” I finished. Michelle just stared at me, I wasn’t sure if she was about to laugh or cry. “Plus you will probably meet someone new at the party” I add in a small voice looking down at my hands. Michelle reached over and pinched my upper arm.

“Ouch! Hey!” I said examining my arm.

“I hate it when you’re right” she yelled in frustration as she got off the couch and walked to the bathroom to take a shower.

8:30 rolled around and Michelle and I left the apartment together. When Michelle had gotten out of the shower I flicked her head for pinching me. We then proceeded to chase each other around the apartment like kids trying to pinch and flick each other. In the end we fell on the floor laughing our asses off. So by the time we left we were as good as new.

“Well, well looks like the wicked witch of the under world decided to join us” Chris said coming up to us as we rounded the corner to the party. It was nearly 3 blocks away but I could hear the music from here.

“Hey Danielle, when are you going to release this pimple of a friend?” Michelle smiled at me before sticking her tongue out at Chris. Chris smiled and grabbed her tongue. Michelle pushed away from him and spit.

“You are a disgusting pig!” she said spiting again. Chris laughed.

“Yeah I know, and who know when I last washed my hands” he mimicked a jacking off motion. Michelle screamed in frustration and stomped off ahead of us.

“You can be a real jack ass sometimes” I told Chris but I couldn’t contain my laughter.

“I just washed my hands before we came” he admitted smiling to me.

“I will be sure to tell her that” I said as we came to the door of the party.

“Oh I really wish you wouldn’t” he told me gently placing his hand on my back pushing me into the party. I was caught off guard again by the odd coldness that I had felt this afternoon in class; it sent a shiver down my spine. Chris felt my shiver with the hand that was on my back.

“Are you okay?” he asked looking worried.

“Yeah it’s nothing” I lied.
