Landon gave one last hard thrust before moaning in pleasure; he strained for a moment then went limp on top of me. My body still tingled from my head to my toes in pleasure

“Mmm” I sighed.

“Yeah, me too” he breathed rolling over to look at the ceiling. I snuggled up next to him.

“I could do this forever” I said smiling. Landon opened his eyes and looked at me in an are-you-serous way.

“You want to go again?!” he asked. “I am a little tired but if you really wanted to do it again I’m game” he joked.

“That’s not what I mean smartass” I laughed. He laughed to as he rested his head back down.

“I know what you meant” he smiled pulling me tighter to him; without shifting much of his body he reached into his jeans pocket and pulled something small out. He lifted my hand into the air and placed a silver band on my ring finger.

“Landon” I gasped sitting up a little.

“It’s a promise ring” he said looking at the ring he had just put on my finger. “I promise to marry you one day Lacey. And as long as you wear this ring you are mine and I am yours”

“I will always be yours” I assured him giving him a gentle kiss.

“You’re my forever Lacey, I feel as if I was always meant to be with you and no one else” he said with a smile, I looked at him and then at the ring.

“I love you” I told him putting my hand on the side of his face staring into his eyes. “I’m game” I said with a smile, Landon laughed then rolled on top of me for round 2.

Epilogue

6 years later

“Come on baby you can do this!” Landon encouraged me holding my hand.

“Ahhhhh” I screamed and pushed. I rested my head back for a moment. “Lets see if you can push baby out of your vagina and we’ll see if you can do this!” I breathed closing my eyes. I winced in pain again.

“Danielle I need you to push again” the doctor prompted.

“I’m right here” Landon whispered only loud enough for me to hear. I looked him in the eye and then pushed as hard as I could. I felt as if my lower half was being ripped open.

“One more good push Danielle you’re almost there!” the doctor said. I built up the last strength I could and pushed with everything in me, and then I heard it. The noise that made everything in my life worth living; the cry of my baby, the doctor held up the bloody mess that was my baby.

“It’s a girl” he announced happily.

“A girl!” I repeated in a whisper, tears crawled down my face. I couldn’t believe it! I had a baby girl! I looked at Landon how also had tears in his eyes as the brought my baby over to me. The nurse carefully placed the tine baby in my arms, all the pain I had felt a moment ago had vanished. Landon huddled closer to me putting his arm round me and one hand on side of the baby.

“We have a daughter.” I cried looking at for a brief moment before returning my gaze to my beautiful baby girl.

“She’s beautiful” Landon exclaimed as he continued to cry with joy. I rested my head on his should suddenly very exhausted. I feel asleep with my baby in my arms and Landon stroking my hair. I don’t know how long I had been asleep when I finally awoke but when I did I saw an image that will remain in my mind till the end of time. Landon was sitting in a rocking chair next to my bed with a pink bundle in his arms. He was looking down at it smiling the most caring smile.

“Natalie” I said sleepily. Landon looked with a huge smile.

“You’re awake!” he said happily. He came over and very gently and carefully placed the baby in my arms.

“Hello Natalie” I said to the sleeping baby in my arms.

“Natalie?” Landon asked sitting on the bed with me.

“I like it” I smiled “Scratch that, I love it”

“Me too” he laughed. “Ya hear that baby? Your mom named you Natalie. What do ya think?” he asked Natalie.

“Can I see her?! Can I see her?!” Evan came jumping into the room and was on my bed within a matter of seconds.

“Evan! Calm!” Mrs. Perry said stepping into the room with my dad in tow.

“I just want to see my baby sister, gosh grandma” he said.

“I’m too young to be called grandma” Mrs. Perry said under her breath; Landon and I laughed. Evan who was now 8 climbed up to my head and looked down at Natalie with me.

“This is Natalie your new baby sister” I introduced.

“Can I hold her?” he asked excitedly.

“Yeah…” I began.

“No!” Landon said quickly. Both Evan and I looked at him.

“Come on dad! Mom said yes!” Evan begged, Landon gave in and nodded his head. I told Evan how to hold her then placed her in his arms. Landon moved closer to me on the bed putting his arm around me; I leaned into him exhaling.

“How does it feel to be a mom?” he asked.

“Great, how does it feel to be the dad of a girl?” I laughed.

“Like everything I knew about babies went right out the window. If it had been a boy I would  no what to expect, I’ve had a little practice with boys.” He smiled at Evan “But a girl brings on a whole new set of worries” he sighed looking at Natalie “God wait till she starts dating” he frowned, I could tell he scared himself a bit. I laughed at him.

“We have awhile before we have to worry about that” I chuckled. He looked down at me.

“I love you” he brushed his hand against my face.

“And I love you” I told him leaning into his hand. We both looked up at our family smiling.

My family was complete I had everything I needed right here, and I was happy, truly happy.
