Landon was out side my door clutching his side with a pained expression. I got out of the car.

“Landon what is your major malfunction?” I said putting one if his arms over my shoulder to support him, I started walking to the door but he wouldn’t move his feet. “Landon please don’t be difficult. The doctor said you need bed rest.” I tried for the door again but he still did not move. “Landon! Please!”

“Lacey talk to me” he commanded. He staggered in front of me so that the car was behind me. “I know you’re freaked, but just talk to me please.” I looked up into his eyes.

“He called me mama” I whispered looking down. He lifted my chin up to face him.

“I know” he smiled. “Why does that scare you?”

“Because…” I didn’t know how to put it but when he put his other hand at the base of my neck and tilted it up towards him again I spit it out. “Because I want to be his mom” I was crying.

“You are his mom” he smiled into my teary eyes. “No you’re not his mother but you are his mom, you are the closest thing he has to a mom. Evan will never know his real mother but you are in my life and you are his mom to me, you are the one who puts him to bed, who plays with him, who is always there for him. I could not ask for a better mom for him.” His words had me stunned; I had not known that that is how he felt. And to tell the truth it kind of turned me on. I looked up into his eyes, the tears gone now; I slowly stood on my toes to reach up to his face. Landon stood completely still and waited for me to reach his face and just like the amazing magical kiss we shared so long ago I kissed him as he just stood there; his head completely still as I maneuvered around him, he let out a moan as I grinded up against him.

“I can’t wait for the doctor to give me the okay to get back into activities” he said smiling as he reached my behind me and placed his hand on my ass. His words brought me back to reality.

“Please go inside now!” I pleaded but he held his firm grip around me wanting to kiss more. “If you come inside now, later tonight I will put on my sexy pajamas and possible do a sexy little dance for you” I bribed him with a teasing smile. That was all he needed and he turned and started shuffling to the door. I laughed and helped him inside. Evan was sitting on Mrs. Perry’s lap with dried tears on his face. Mrs. Perry scowled at Landon.

“Bed rest.” She commanded of him with a harsh mom tone; she looked at me with a sympathetic smile then set Evan down and walked out of the room. Evan stared up at me tears threatening to spill over. I knelt down to his level.

“Please don’t cry honey.” I begged rubbing my hand over his cheek.

“Sorry” he mumbled. I looked at Landon who was now laying on the couch watching us intently. I turned back to Evan and scooped him up into my arms.

“There is no reason for you to be sorry sweetheart, I should be the one saying sorry” I smiled at him and he leaned against my chest as if listening to my heartbeat. “If you want to call me mommy I am okay with that but whatever you want to call me know that I will always love you.” I hugged him closer.

“Mama” he mumbled into my chest and tears of joy fell silently from my eyes. I looked at Landon and he was smiling at us.
