Love Of A Lifetime *Chapter 53*
|
For the rest of that week I stayed at Landon’s house. My dad didn’t mind too much, I mean he still had concerns, but he had met Mrs. Perry and she made sure that we slept in separate rooms. I mostly slept in Landon’s room and he took the pull out bed in Evan’s room that he had used when Evan was a new born. But whenever we could Landon and I stole a moment away together. I had snuck into Evan’s room one night and climbed onto the pull out with Landon (who had been sleeping) he wrapped his arms around me and I felt asleep in the safety of his arms, the only problem was that his mom came into get Evan the next morning and saw. But other than that one incident everything that week had gone pretty well. Well Evan did get an ear infection which wasn’t so fun. But it was finally Friday and there was a party that we are going to go to and everything is perfect, except for the fact that we are supposed to get a huge rain storm tonight.
“I have some bad news” Landon said coming into the room where I had been playing with Evan. “My mom won’t be able to make it home tonight. Her flight was canceled because of weather. So that means no babysitter for Evan.” I looked outside where the clouds were very dark and little specks of rain were hitting the window.
“But if you still wanted to go I am sure Tessa or Brie could give you a ride” he suggested.
“What? No I am not going to leave you here!”
“Babe it would really be okay if you wanted to go I really don’t mind.”
“Are you trying to get rid of me?” I teased.
“No of course not I just don’t want you to miss out because of me”
“There will be other parties Landon. I mean hell we graduate in a month so there are going to be loads of parties to come. So I am staying with you and that’s that.” I tickled Evan “Isn’t buddy” Evan giggled. I called my friends and told them I wouldn’t be going; they weren’t too happy about it but then again they understood why I wasn’t going to go. We watched Lion King till Evan fell asleep then put him to bed. While Landon was putting Evan to bed I stood near the window and looked out at the rain which was coming down as hard as ever; lightning lit up the sky every minute or so and was followed by a loud crack of thunder. Landon came and put his arms around me as I stood by the window.
“You scared?” he asked as there was another flash of lightning. I turned and put my arms around his neck.
“Never” I smiled but I jumped a little as the thunder cracked and shook the house. “Okay maybe a little” I laughed. From there we went into his bedroom where you know what happened. After we were done and I was nearly asleep the phone started to ring.
“Hello?” Landon answered sleepily. “Tyson, is that you?” he yawned. “What? Where are you? Yeah sure just give me 10 minutes. Yeah you’re welcome man” he hung up the phone then rolled over to me.
“That was Tyson and Tessa there car broke down on Evergreen Ave. I gotta go pick them up. You mind stayin here with Evan?” he yawned again. I looked at the clock which said 1:57.
“Yeah that’s fine” I said plopping my head back down on the pillow. “Be careful” I said before he left the room.
“I’ll be back in 20 minutes”
