I closed my eyes again the pain in my head made it hard to even open my eyes; I heard the sounds of foot steps running through the door.

“Lacey!” I hear Landon’s familiar voice. I felt my body being hoisted off the ground and a few seconds later back down onto a soft surface. I felt the familiar softness of my bed and knew I was in my room now. It was much quieter here.

“Lacey babe this is going to hurt but just for a second okay?” Landon said. I opened my eyes a little to see his pained face, then nodded my head. I let out a yelp of pain as Landon tore of the duck tape from my mouth.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry” he repeated over and over. Landon reached over to my nightstand and grabbed the scissors and cut my hands and feet loose. Then pulled me into his chest rocking me back and forth as I cried into his chest uncontrollably, the door opened to my room and Tessa came in.

“The ambulance is here, you should take her down to get her head checked out.” Tessa said quietly. The thought have having to move made my head spin, but I soon realized that it wasn’t going to be a problem. Landon picked me up in his arms and carried me down the stairs and out to the ambulance. I had to get a couple of stitches and I had a minor concussion. Landon held me around the waist as he slowly guided me back to the house. When we got up onto the porch I saw Brayden sitting on the bench with his arm around Brie who was wrapped in a blanket. Landon kept leading me towards the door not noticing Brayden. I stopped walking and looked back at Landon and told him to wait a second. I made my way over to Brayden slowly resisting Landon’s urges to help me walk.

“Thank you” I whispered to Brayden when I got to him. Brielle was asleep on his shoulder. He looked at me with guilt still in his eyes.

“I’m sorry” he mouthed looking me in the eye.

“Lacey you should be resting” Landon said from the door. I nodded and walked back to Landon’s arms.

I laid in Landon’s arms trying my best to fall asleep, but the events of the day kept unfolding in my head.

“Lacey?” Landon whispered. “Are you away?”

“Yeah” I whispered back.

“I… I umm…” he stuttered. I sat back and looked him in the face.

“You what?” I laughed a little.

“I…” whatever he wanted to say it was must be big because it was taking forever to spit out.

“Landon whatever it is just say it” I gave him a quick kiss. He closed his eyes.

“I love you” he breathed then slowly opened his eyes and looked me in the eyes. I sat up straighter and he did to. “I’m sorry it’s too soon.” He said sitting on the edge of the bed putting his head in his hands cursing under his breath. I crawled over to Landon and straddled him, who would not look me in the eye.

“Landon” I whispered into his ear. “I love you too”
