Cody and I got on the swing ride; we were ready to when the ride took off. I smiled at him, “this will always be my favorite ride, no matter how old I get,” I said.

            “Well it is a fun ride,” he smiled and said back.

            “Totally!” I said giving him a high five.

            We laughed at each other while we got off, and went out, to the main, walking path. I had my cell phone in my pocket, and it started ringing… it was a text message from Dustin. “Hey, I don’t know if I'm going to make it to the fair today…but I will see you tonight, for a late night swim, I love you Emi muah…”

            “That’s weird,” I thought to myself.

            “Well, Dustin isn’t coming so I guess its just you and me today Hun,” I said looking over to Cody.

            “Why? Did anything happen?” he asked.

            “I don’t know he just said he couldn’t make it,” I answered.

            “Well I saw a girl about our age coming out of the house this morning, while you were in the shower, maybe that has something to do with it,” he added.

            “Maybe,” I said.

            “Katie? No it couldn’t be Dustin loves me he would never cheat on me…well I cheated on him…maybe its pay back…no never,” I thought to myself.

            “Are you hungry?” Cody asked.

            “Yeah, let’s get a funnel cake or something,” I answered.

            “Funnel cake sounds good I haven’t had one of them in forever,” he said.

            “Ok, well we better get in line then,” I told him.

            We found a place that was selling funnel cakes; we got in line, and talked.

            “So how is everything going with you and Dustin?” he asked as they handed us our funnel cake to share.

            “Pretty good… and thank you so much for understanding that I love him and every kiss between us was just me not ready to commit to Dustin fully,” I answered.

            “Yeah, well I’ll always be here for you no matter what,” he said looking away from me.

            “You still like me? Don’t you?” I asked.

            “Yeah but don’t worry about it…I understand that you love Dustin, and he loves you,” he answered.

            “Aww, thank you so much” I said hugging him.

            “Don’t think anything of it, I'm fine I promise,” he promised.

            “So, what ride do you want to do now?” he asked.

            “I'm kinda over the whole rides thing, do you want to just go out on a boat?” I asked.

            “Sure, lets go” he answered.

            We walked down to the beach together as we finished the funnel cake. We walked down the dock; I looked back up towards Dustin’s house. All the cars where there so they must be home… oh well Ill talk to him later.

            Cody and I spend the day on the boat we went tubing and water skiing, but for the most part, we spend out time out in the middle of the lake laying on the front of the boat tanning and talking. Around six we got hungry, so we made our way back to the dock, we were going to go to the diner and get dinner.

            We tied the boat to the dock and made our way up to the diner. Most of the town was still at the fair. They would be until about eight tonight. We walked into the dinner no was there expect Fred. I looked over to Dustin’s house again nothing had changed. We sat down at a booth and Fred came over to talk to us, and take our order. After awhile Fred asked, “where Dustin?”

            “I don’t know I haven’t seen him all day,” I answered.

            “Well he was down on the beach today around three, with a girl, I thought it was you,” he added.

            “No it wasn’t,” I said.

            “It could have been that girl that you guys were in here with at the start of summer, it looks a lot like her,” he said.

            “its nothing it wasn’t Katie, I hope” I thought to myself.
