The bell rang, Alex, and I walked out the door together, there stood Kai, he was leaning up against the lockers there were across the hall waiting for me. “See you at homecoming Alex!” I said as she walked over to the stairs, to go upstairs.

            “hey,” I said walking towards Kai.

            “hey, you” he said as he grabbed my hand.

            I smiled, as we walked back over to my locker. “I have something I want to ask you Amanda,” he said as I bent down to my locker to grab my math book, to do the homework over the weekend. I smiled and I kind of knew what he wanted to ask me. “Will you go to homecoming with me?” he asked.

            “I would love too,” I said looking him in the eye.

            “Great, umm, do you need a ride home?” he asked.

            “I was gonna catch the bus, but if your offering,” I answered.

            “Yeah, I'm offering.”

            “Well, I'm going to take you up on that offer,” I smiled.

            We smiled at each other, I was leaning up against the lockers, and Kai was standing in front of me, when his ex girlfriend walked by. I closed my eyes, and looked the other way. “What’s wrong?” Kai asked.

            “Its, just, I don’t think…her and I will ever be happy…I mean I'm happy, but she still has feelings for you, she always will…” I said.

            “but I don’t like her like I love you…she’s a great girl, but…she’s out of the picture she’s a friend that’s it, nothing will ever happen between us,” he said putting his arms around my waist. “so how about I get you home, so you can start thinking about me, even more then you are right now,” he said.

            “Yeah, I guess we better.”

            He held my hand as we made our way to the front doors, it was cold, outside, and stupid me didn’t bring a jacket, I always end up leaving it at school, or I just borrow someone else jacket, usually Aaron, Jose, or Gini’s.

            We walked down the sidewalk, with everyone else, to his dad’s car, a blue, 89’ mustang! It is a hot car but I think if Kai hurt it in anyway he would die. We got in the car; I buckled my seat belt, as Kai started the engine. I told him the way to my house, and that’s where, we went, as we pulled up in front of my house, I said, “thanks for the ride.”

            “No, problem, what time should I pick you up, tomorrow?” he asked.

            “Umm, well it starts at nine, do you want to go to dinner, before, like as a group?” I asked.

            “Sure, where?”

            “I don’t know, Gini set it up, but I kinda don’t want to go, because she’s 16 and her parents still have to be with her every second of every day,” I said.

            “Well then how about you and I go to dinner, alone,” he added.

            “I would love that, I guess pick me up around 6:30, that should be enough time,” I said.

            “Ok ill see you tomorrow,” he said, as he leaned over and kissed me.
