            That night, Cody, and I went to the beach. He laid down a blanket, for us to sit on.

            “For the first time this summer, I'm here, I'm actually here, I'm not wanting to go home, and go back to Colorado. I want to be here with you,” Cody said looking out at the water.

            I smiled, at him; I didn’t say anything because I knew that I shouldn’t be here, well least not with Cody. I love Dustin, I thought to my self. “Cody…” I said.

            “Yeah?” he said back.

            I looked his way, I saw his deep, blue eyes, why is this so hard, I thought. “I shouldn’t do this to Dustin, I can’t do this to Dustin, he has always been there for me, I won’t hurt him anymore. You and him are becoming friends, and I'm sorry Cody, but I'm going to have to choose, Dustin, you’re a great guy Cody, but I'm not giving Dustin, everything I can, but he’s giving me everything. He is my everything, when we were little, we could share, he would give me his ice cream if I spilt mine, he gave up a lot for me, now its my turn, I'm sorry Cody, but he’s who I want, he is the guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. It would have never worked out between us,” I said standing up I couldn’t be around Cody, I need to tell Dustin, what had happened, tell him I love him, tell him I need him, tell him I cant live without him.

            “I understand,” Cody, said, “go, I hope you too are happy, I just want friends, promise me that, and promise me we will stay friends.”

            “I can do that, I promise we will stay friends,” I said.

            He hugged me, I gave him a kiss on the cheek, “I’ll see you tomorrow,” I said running off to Dustin’s house.

            Its almost 9:30, they should be home soon, if not already. I ran to Dustin’s back door, his dad and him were sitting on the couch, watching TV while his mom and sister, where in the kitchen, getting plates out to have dessert. I knocked on the door, Dustin got up, and walked over, “its Emi,” he said.

            “Oh, ask her if she wants to have dessert with us,” his mother yelled.

            “Ok, mama” he said.

            “Do you dessert, Emi?” he asked.

            “Sure,” I answered.

            “Yeah mama she does,” he told him mom.

            He closed the door behind him, pushed him up against the wall and kissed him, with passion. I put my hand on his cheek, and held it there as I kissed him harder and deeper. I pulled away, and said, “I'm so sorry, for everything Dustin, I love you more than anything in this whole world! I would die without you, I can’t believe I ever thought I could leave you for Cody, you’re the best guy out there!”

            “Wait, you were thinking of leaving me for Cody?” he asked.

            “For, like 30 seconds, that’s when I realized you are the guy for me, I can’t lose you Dustin, you were always there for me, and I will always be here for you!” I told him as I grabbed his hands. “You’re the love of my life.”

            He pulled me closer to him, he kissed my lips gently, “you’re the love of my life,” he whispered.

            “Let’s go get dessert, baby, even though you’re sweeter, then anything in this world,” he said leaning away from the wall.

            He put his arm around my waist, and we walked into the house. his little sister, is adorable, she ran up to me, wrapped her arms around my legs, and gave me a great big hug. “Hello, missy,” I said rubbing her back, with my free hand.

            “I missed you Emi,” she said in the sweetest voice.

            “Aw, I missed you too, how about we plan a day, for just me and you, and we go…shopping with your bothers money,” I said teasingly.

            “YEAH!” she yelled.

             I giggled, and Dustin, gave me the look like you aint getting any of my money. “Dessert is ready, y’all,” his mama said.

            Dustin, sat down, picked up, a bowl of ice cream and cake, that his mom had made that day. I was far enough from the table that I could fit on his lap; I sat down with my cake and ice cream. He kissed the side of my neck, I giggled. “the fair, coming a week, early” his daddy said.

            “Really?” I asked.

            “Yup, I saw the flyer today,” he answered.

            “I can’t wait, I love all the rides, and the whole event,” I said.

            “I can’t wait either,” Dustin’s sister, added.

            “Yeah, but Ed and I never get any time alone there, with this little one,” said his mama.

            “Well Dustin and I wouldn’t mind taking her off your hands for a day,” I told them.

            “That would be wonderful, Emi, thank you so much,” she said.

            “No problem, she’s adorable,” I added.

            “She is if you don’t live with her,” Dustin whispered, so only I could hear him.

             When Dustin and I were done with our cake and ice cream, he told, his parents, he was going to walk me home; we went out the front door. We walked along the sidewalk hand in hand. We walked slowly, “I'm so glad to have you Emi,” he whispered.

            “I am too sweetie,” I whispered back.

            We stepped on to my porch, I didn’t want to go in yet, I sat down on the porch swing, singled, for Dustin to sit next to me. He sat down and put his arm around me, this was no view of the beach, but the sky looked so pretty, it was perfect. The night was warm, but with a slight breeze. I closed my eyes, and my head fell on to his shoulder. This was the only place I wanted to be, in his arms.
