Cody walked out of the house in a pair of trunks, “you ready?” he asked.
“Of course, but are you?” I added.
“Yup!” he said.
We started walking back to the docks, no one was in earshot, and no one was in sight either. “Emi, I have something to tell you,” he said.
“What is it?” I asked, looking over to him.
“Well, I know you have a boyfriend and all, but I like you a whole lot!” he said, “When we kissed the other day, it was something special. I don’t want to lose that special bond that we have, so if that means, we have to just be friends, ill do it, and ill do anything.”
“Wow Cody, that’s really sweet, but I really don’t see why you like me! I mean I'm nothing special. I'm just me, I like to have fun, and boys confuse me,” I said.
He reached over and grabbed my hand, pushed the piece of hair that was flying in my face, behind my ear. He kissed me on the cheek. “You are beautiful, smart, funny, and a great gal,” he said. “I only wish I was lucky enough to have you as my girlfriend,” he added. “You know you’re the first girl, I’ve been able to tell that I like them, that’s something aint it.”
“We better get to the boat, Cody before I kiss you again,” I said pulling my hand out of his.
“What if I want you to kiss me?” he asked.
“I would love to kiss you but I have a boyfriend, and…” I started saying when Cody leaned in and gave me a light kiss on the lips.
