“I'm sorry, Cody, I better go talk to him,” I said.

            “Can I have one more kiss?” he asked.

            “Not right now” I answered.

            “Ok,” he said, and stood up; I hugged him, and ran out the door.

            I looked around I didn’t see Dustin, I looking over to the beach, and there he was sitting there, all alone, looking out at the water. I ran down the stairs, and walked over to him, as I got close, I slowed down. “Dustin…?” I said very quietly.

            “What do you want?” he said as if he had been crying.

            I sat down next to him, and said, “I know I hurt you, and I don’t want to see you hurt. Dustin, baby, look at me please.

            He looked at me with tears, rolling down his cheek. Seeing him crying, hurt, I have only seen him cry once before, when his grandma, died. I will never forget that day. “Dustin, I'm sorry,” I whispered. “I know you wont ever forgive me but…I hope you will.” I added.

            “Emi, we had sex, you and I, not him, that same day, you’re in Fred’s, practically, making out with him,” he said, looking angrily in to my eyes. “but I love you, and the only, way I will, ever take you back, is if you promise me you will never kiss any guy besides me, again,” he added.

            “I love you Dustin.” I said.

            He put his hand on my knee, and said “good.”

            The rest of the night, I couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss with Cody. I love Dustin, but Cody, is so…different. After dinner, with the family, Dustin went home. I ran up to my room, to think. I turned on some country music, laid down on my bed, and stared at the ceiling. “here she comes walkin’ talkin’ true love sayin’ ive been lookin for you love,” I sang.

            “Emi!” my mama yelled.

            “Yeah, mama?” I asked in a yell

            “Cody’s here,” she yelled back.

            I ran down stairs, and stopped, “I can’t be exited to see him, I love Dustin,” I thought to myself. “I just can’t,” I thought again.

            “Hey,” I said.

            “Hey,” he said with a smile.

            “Let’s go out front,” I said walking towards the door.

            He followed. When we got outside, he said, “You look beautiful, tonight.”

            “Thank you,” I said.

            “And you’re an amazing kisser,” he added.

            “Thank you, you’re not bad yourself,” I said, with a giggle.

            He reached, over and grabbed, my hand, I pulled it away. He looked at me confused. “I'm sorry Cody, I shouldn’t have kissed, you today,” I said looking towards Dustin’s house.

            “What? What do you mean?” he asked.

            “Look Cody, I think you’re a great guy, but I'm kind with someone right now,” I said, quietly as possible.

            “oh, I see” he said.

            “You’re an amazing guy, I just can’t be with you, I hope we can still be friends,” I said.

            “Of course, we can,” he added. “well, I guess I better go,” he said.

            He hugged me, “I'm sorry about this afternoon,” he whispered.

            “its ok, don’t worry about it,” I said.

            We said our goodbye’s, I ran back up to my room. I turned on the song “clear blue sky” again. I sang along “you swear you’ve had enough, you’re ready to give up. On that little lie they call love, and out of the blue clear sky. Fallin right into your hands, like rain on the desert sand. It’s the last think you had planned our of the blue clear sky. Here she come walkin talking true love. Sayin I been lookin for you love. Surprise you new love has arrived, surprise clear sky. Aint love a funny thing, on day youre givin up the dream.             I feel asleep listening to that song, over and over again, my light still on, clothes still on.
