"Um...wherever you feel like going is fine with me." Amy replied half-heartedly.

"Oh, please. i've had more than one girlfriend in life, so i know that when a girl tells me that, it's just bs."

"I'd prefer to stay at the deli."

"Alright then. we'll stay here. all you had to do was ask."

"Yes, i know." Amy replied softly.

Anthony smiled and took her hand. "Let's go." He said, walking ahead of her. Amy followed. suddenly he stopped. Amy stopped, too, wondering what was the problem now.

"What's the matter?" Amy asked, a little concerned. but apparently Anthony didn't hear her. he was too busy fussing with his phone and sending a million text messages. Amy leaned over to take a peek, but Anthony only smiled and turned around. saying, "Hey, Amy. Mind your own bus, ok?" Amy just nodded, smiled and turned away. but she couldn't help wondering what was up.

"Anthony, couldn't you at least tell me what's up?" Amy asked, holding onto his arm.

"Let's just say...i'm taking care of business, ok?" he replied, and kissed the top of her head.

"What kind of business. Anthony, you can't just keep hiding things from me."

"Amy, listen. you have some things that i'm sure you'll hide from me. well, that's the same with me. some things i'll tell you like it's no big deal, some things i'll tell you after i know you a bit more, some things i'll tell you after hesitating a bit, and other things i just won't tell you. ok? you just have to understand these things."

"Ok. fine. but there won't be many secrets that you will ever know, Anthony."

"Why not? is it because i'm not telling you this now? listen, Amy, if you are, you're being a really big baby. you don't need to know every single thing that goes on in my life and-"

Amy cut him off. "Chill. it's not because of this, don't worry. it's because nothing interesting ever happens in my life."

"THat's ok. i love you anyway." he said, then planted a kiss on her cheek. he sent a few more messages on his phone and put his phone back into her pocket. he put his arm around Amy's waist. he walked with her into the deli. Julie and her boyfriend looked up, and Julie had that smile come back on her face again. Amy rolled her eyes and her and Julie stopped. Julie said out loud, "You know, you two make a cute couple."

Anthony smiled and said. "Yeah, i know. Amy's the girl for me!"

Amy just smiled and said, "Yeah, same here." and gave Julie the 'stop talking;you're embarassing me' look. Julie returned an understanding look and said instead, "Just saying. but looks can be deceiving, so i hope this works out."

Anthony became a little nervous after that. even when Amy sat down and asked Anthony to sit down with her, he seemed to have some difficulty analyzing her words. every time Julie or Amy laughed, he would nervously smile and make little comments.

Julie noticed. "Anthony, you're kinda quiet today. you're usually such a loud mouth. what's up?"

Anthony smiled nervously again and stammered, "Uh..um...nothing...uh...nothing really."

"Anthony..." Amy said, looking at him. she could tell something was going on, but she didn't know what. "What are you hiding from me?"

"Amy, i need someone to talk to. i want to tell you something privately." Anthony seemed a little stressed, but you could tell he was trying to be cool.

"Ok. Julie, i'm gonna go now. see ya around."

"K, bye." she replied.

Anthony turned to face her. "Amy, please take some of this pressure off of me. but you have to promise not to kill me for this, ok?"

Amy nodded, preparing for the worse.
