I had just put my earphones in when there was a light tap on my shoulder. I just assumed it was some little kid messing around and ignored it. But then someone shook my shoulder slightly. I looked up to none other then… Jeremy.

“Hey!” He smiled his dorkish smile and looked around, “Are you waiting for your sisters?”

“Them and Mums, she’s picking us up today.” Our parents worked at the same school so he knew right away why I was waiting.

“Oh, I’ve gotta wait on Jennifer before I can leave, Mom wouldn’t be to happy if I left her”

About then my two sisters, Kirklynn and Kierstin, walked up with his sister, Jennifer.  

“See you tomorrow, Carrie!” He waved as they walked away.

“Bye”

“Carrie!!!” Kirklynn was already in our car. “Come on!”

I couldn’t pay attention to anything the rest of the night. My mind was to busy, thinking about Jeremy.

The next few months went pretty much the same. Tara never gave up on Jeremy, but they never went out either. Football season started and between band and cheerleading I barely had enough time to sleep, much less to think about Jeremy. But as usual I found time. It became so easy to talk to him, it was unreal.

PeeWee football started up and since both mine and his sisters cheered we were always at the games together, mostly working the concession stand. It got to where when we took a break we’d sit together on the cooler and mess around with our friends. Especially one Saturday we’d been working for at least two hours with out any sign of my mom. She usually stopped by about every thirty minutes. After a while I called her.

“Hey! Where are you? I need you to take me to Sam’s”

“We’re at the circle, why?”

I was so confused. “The circle? But I thought…”

“Oh my gosh!” she cut me off “I forgot you! I’m sorry, you just weren’t with us, and I was ready to go! I didn’t even think about it.”

“Oh” She hadn’t forgotten me in about 2 months, guess we’re gonna have start over. “How am I suppose to get to Sam’s house?”

“Marks there right? Ask him” Ugh I don’t wanna ride with mark!

“Hey Mark! You fixin to head home?” Lightbulb! “Never mind, live in like Caddo. Jeremy? Do you mind taking me to Sam’s house?” Please say you’ll take me!!!

“Is it in Glenwood?”

“Yup!!”

“Then sure, I’ll take you.”

“Thanks! Mums? Jeremy said he can take me, is that okay?” It took a minute but she said it was fine. “Okay love you, bye”
