My boyfriend and I had gone with my church to see Mercy Me, but it was full. Instead we watched Juno. I am not a late night person and ended up falling asleep about halfway home, Well I was almost asleep.
We were riding home in the church van after watching Juno. He had wrapped his arms around me and sat his head on my shoulder. Every once in a while I’d lean up to cough (hate being sick) and then snuggle back up with him. I hadn’t moved in a while and was almost asleep when he turned his head ever so slightly and whispered “Can I tell you something” I mumble something hoping it sounded like a yes. “I love you” At first I though I was dreaming but then I knew he’d said it. I tried to say I love you too, but it came out more like I ow oo. (Couldn’t talk) When we got to the church I was half asleep and just walked over to his truck. We waved at Derek and Diana and he headed towards my house. I really wanted to make sure I hadn’t been dreaming about what he said. “Wow, I slept just about all the way home….I just barely remember getting off the interstate.” “Really?” He laughed slightly. “I didn’t snore, did I?” This time he really laughed. “No, you hardly moved.” He had pulled up in my drive way and I scooted over to give him a hug. He leaned over and kissed my cheek. (Talk about butterflies) “I love you” This time it actually came out. “I love you too” (The inevitable ending) My lips brushed against his for like a fraction of a second and my dad pulled into the yard. I hugged him again and went in the house.
