            Annie noticed how much shorter than Brandon she was, and figured that to hug him while they were standing, she’s probably have to go on tiptoes.

            Brandon took Annie’s hand and led her to the front door. They paused to slip on shoes, and he took her outside, but not before covering her eyes and telling her not to peek.

            Unsure of what he was doing, Annie just went along with what he was doing and trusted that everything was for the better.

            Once he got Annie outside, Brandon uncovered her eyes and pointed to the sky.

            Annie looked up and saw the Northern Lights. “Oh my…” She smiled, looking from the sky to Brandon. “Brandon! It’s beautiful!”

            He hugged her and smiled down at her. “But not as beautiful as you.” He responded, leaning down and kissing her again.

            Annie completely forgot that they were outside in the darkness when Brandon kissed her. However, it was a short kiss, and she remembered as soon as they pulled apart.

            Shivering at the thought of all the woods behind her, she wrapped her around a round his chest and laid her head against it. She could hear the crickets and frogs behind her, and the beating of Brandon’s heart.

            Brandon smiled and wrapped his arms around Annie. “Annie…”

            Annie looked up at him.

            “Will you go out with me?”

            It took Annie a moment for his words to register, she gasped and hugged him tighter. “Oh! I’d love to!”

            He smiled, and removed her arms from around him, causing her to look at him in confusion. Brandon smiled, placed his hands on the backs of her legs, just under her butt, and lifted her up so her face was level with his.

            Annie smiled, wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him passionately.

            He carried her away from the rock by which they were standing, over to a grassy area, and laid her down. He laid right next to her, half on top of her, and they started making out under the stars, the crecent moon, and the green and white Aurora Borealis.

            “Turn that fucking music down!” Annie’s dad shouted from the front room, pulling Annie from her fantasy.

            She jumped, and tears started falling once again. It was just my imagination! She told herself as she got up and turned her music down to almost in-audible. Like that will ever happen to me! She turned, and sighed when she noticed that she had nothing to drink. I don’t wanna go out there! But I have to get something to drink! Swallowing her courage, and wiping all the tears from her eyes, Annie took a deep breath, stopped herself momentarily from crying, and opened her bedroom door.

            When she got to the fridge and opened it, one of the things that Evy had thrown in earlier fell out with a ‘clunk’ on the floor. Her father cleared his throat, and when she took a side-glance up at him, he was glaring at her from his usual spot on the couch, the T.V. loudly playing Simpsons in front of him.

            She grabbed a drink and quietly, and as quickly as possible, went back to her room. Just before she shut the door, however, she heard her father yell.

            “We’re going out of state for the next month, but you’re staying here!”
