Orphan Luck [ch.9 final chapter]
|
Without waiting for an answer, he kissed me again. This time, I used something I had been thinking about. I started playing with his hair. I loved his hair! It was long, but not too long, and wavy. A dirty blonde color, but it fit him perfectly.
He wrapped his arms around me. I don’t know how he did that since I was on the bed and he was on top of me, but he did.
The bed moved with each move we made. We became one instead of two. Lying there upon his bed, kissing and holding each other.
Once we pulled apart, Martin just lay there, gazing into my eyes. He looked as if he were waiting for me to say something.
I didn’t know what to say at first, then I remembered that I never got to answer his question.
“Martin,” I said quietly.
“Yes?” He moved closer. I don’t know how. I didn’t think we could be in any closer proximity, but he did.
“I would love to be your girl.” I smiled.
“That’s what I was wanting to hear.” He smiled and kissed me again....

That’s my story. That’s how I met the man I never knew was out there for me. I felt then as I do now, but now, we’re older. I’m 20 now. We live not far down the road from that house. Yes, we. We got married about six months ago.
His parents bought us a house down the road. They were richer than I thought they were. They still are too, but so is Martin and I. He owns his own business.
Right now Martin’s at work as I stay home. We’ve got a maid, so I have no house work to do. I’m putting clothes away though. We had bought more clothes to stock the closet upstairs. We too take in orphans we find. We nurse them back to health and find them a home. I guess you could call us a half-way house or an orphanage, but we’re not state licenced or anything.
I’m looking forward to when Martin gets home though. I’ve got some great news to tell him. I went to the doctors earlier this morning about getting sick in the mornings. I’m sure Martin will be as happy about the reason as I am.
I’m expecting a child! I can’t believe it. Four years ago, I never would have even dreamed about all that I have now. I’m so amazed and thankful to my Lord and Savior. I thank him daily for the way he’s changed my life in the last four years.
Being out in the world all those years has taught me to fend for myself, and I’m stronger now than I’ve ever been. Oh, and I’ve even beat Martin in tetris a few times too!
End.
