Courage From Beyond

Creative Created on 3-26-08 Views(18) Story Rating G

This is a true story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine....

Tony Olsen....we both went to High School together.

Well neway, Tony was one of those guys who had a slight problem talking to females, and when i say problems, i really mean problems.  Whenever he'd approach a girl who he liked, he would instantly go into panic mode.  His mouth would feel as though it was full of sand, his face would get sweaty, and i MEAN hit-with-a-firehose wet, and his tongue would knot-up in an instant.  I tried to help him as best i could, but it was no use.

One day in art class, the teacher introduced a new student to the school.  Her name was Angela..long  for "angel", and man o man was she beautiful.  Needless to say, Tony, as well as the other boys of the class, were speechless....both by her beauty, and the fact that she was paired off with Tony.  They couldnt believe it...the shyest guy in school paired off with the hottest girl in the class!!

When Angela turned to him and said hello, an extremely rare thing happened, he actually spoke!  His mouth didnt dry up, his tongue didnt knot up, no sweat, nothing!!!  He spoke as if they had been friends for a long time.  For the next few days, they became fast friends, everywhere they went they were together, at school, at the mall, and even in the movies, they were everywhere.  And the good times didnt stop there, now that his confidence was at an all-time high, he didnt feel nervous around other females as well, walking down the halls of school giving random females a friendly "hi" or "how ya doin?".  This amazed everyone, even myself when i found out that he had finally become brave.

Well, one day, word spread that a dance was comming up at school in a week.  Tony saw this opportunity to show Angela a good time and finally ask her out.  He bought a bouquet of roses and walked to her house, smiling from ear to ear, just knowing that nothing could go wrong.  He rang the doorbell and a woman answered a minute later.  The woman looked as though she had been through alot.  Tony asked for Angela, but the woman replied that she wasnt there.  When he asked where she was, the old woman smiled, asking him did a girl help him with a problem that he had recently.  He looked at her with a confused look on his face before nodding.  The woman began to laugh softly.  Tony, growing more curious, asked the woman where Angela was.  The woman replied , with a creepy smile....

"She's at Lincoln Park Cemetary.  She's been dead for 3 years now!!!"

This is a true story, it happened to a friend of a friend of mine.

Tony now has a girlfriend of 2 years, but he never forgets the help he had gotten 2 years ago.  He sometimes looks up at the sky and wonders if she's helping someone else.
