Those Thursdays They Never Knew Existed

As I sit here writing this, I'm sort of half listening to Nanna rant on about how to play Bolivia. Wait... or is it 500? One or the other. Sure, I know they're completely different, but when you really don't care they seem exactly the same. But, you know, most of me is thinking about him. Sure, I told them I was over him. And sure, I told them that I never really was interested in him anyway. But they all knew that deep down in my heart, I didn't really mean it. Of course, me being me, I was the last one to figure that out.

There are probably quite a few questions running through your heads at the moment, Some of them'd be stuff like "What am I gonna eat for lunch tomorrow?" or "Do you want to go to sleep? I want to go to sleep. Let's go to sleep then." or something along those general lines. Some of you may be feeling a little depressed and are thinking "I HATE LIFE!! WHY IS LIFE NOT FAIR??". Yet others of you, perhaps most of you, would be thinking something a little like the following "Who is this meantally and emotionally maimed retard who is so deeply besotted by this 'him' person, and who is this 'him' person by which she is so deeply besotted?" or in plain English "Who is she and who is she in love with?"

Well, the answer to the first part of the question is that I am Lorrin Allouisa Laverton, year nine at a place called Kimberly Falls College (which is a high school). I'm tall for my age (twelve) and I have dark brown hair, primarily brown, secondarily either blue or green eyes, and looooong legs. The answer to the second part of the question is that the person I am so deeply besotted by is called Simon, and he is in year ten at my school, he's fourteen going on fifteen, has brown hair and is really one of a kind.

My friends are always going on about how I shouldn't be so weird about him, for instance, Victoria Morley. She says to me just abouts every day "What do you see in him? He has pointy teeth and a huge nose!". Well, Victoria, I am glad to see that you can state the obvious. And then there's Siobhan Solomon. "Jeez, Lorrin, he's a pompous git of a guy". Well it's lovely to see that my best friends are supporting me here. Teegan tells me to stop stalking him, Annabelle tells me that I just go on and on and on about him, but there is one person I can count on for support.

She's Simon's ex. Her name is Lisa, and she's in my homeroom. She's always saying to me "You going out with Simon yet? Well hurry up then!" or "I can't believe you guys aren't together yet!" and stuff like that. Supportive stuff.

He has wonderful eyes.

I just wish I could get him alone for more that thirty seconds. In that thirty seconds, he says hello, hugs me, say goodbye and then runs off to hug some stranger. He's --

There I go again.

Somebody. Next time I go off on a rant about how great Simon is, or what he said to me last week, or how long he hugged me for, please, shut me up.

It's a lovely Thursday here. First week of school holidays, but there is nothing to do. I just wish that someone (namely, Simon) would ring up and ask me to the movies. Yeah, fat chance, Lorrin. I just want to go somewhere with my friends, or Simon (who is my friend) or something like that. But, you know, since nothing is going to happen, I might as well go and lay down on my bed or sit in a comfortable chair and go to sleep. Or maybe I should go and lapse into 'I love Simon'ness. Yeah, that's what I'll do. See you.

-Lorrin
