We quickly went down another hallway towards a big classroom. We walk in when every body stared at me. I don’t know if it was my looks, because most of the guys stared like they see some hot chick, or because I was new to the class.

“You can sit here.” He pointed at a desk next to him and I quietly sat down.

“Don’t worry. All these kids stare a lot. You’ll get used to it.” Oh I’m sure I will.

The bell rang and the teacher walked in. Luckily he went on with his lesson instead of making me introduce myself. Of course he noticed I was in the class, but he didn’t bother. So, first period went by fast. So did our next classes, American history, Physics and Photo. Soon it was lunch. Jake led me to the Cafeteria where I was given a pretty decent meal; Macaroni and cheese. Blah!

“So, do have a girlfriend, not to get in your business.” Out of all the questions to ask, why that one?
“Nah! I don’t plan on dating till i’m out of high school. Besides, relationships get in the way. I just have a grip load of friends.”

“So you’re pretty much popular?” Will you leave the guy alone?

“You could say that.”

We walked up to a table where about 6 other guys were sitting. What was I getting myself into? When we got there, a few of them stared at me. I wasn’t used to that kind of attention.

“Guys, this is Jade. She’s a new student here and I’m here to help her around.” He went around introducing me separately to them all.

“Nice meeting all of you” I sat down next to Jake and started to chat with the Boy’s.

“So Jade, where you from?” some kid Anthony sitting across from me asked.

“Arizona.”

“Wow. Is it better here?” another kid, Andrew asked.

“Definitely; I think we might have burned to death if my uncle and I stayed there.”

Soon we all got into conversation. I was able to get along with people for the first time. Well… at least with these guy’s. The bell rang and we were off to English. This class wasn’t all that great, but I had more interest in writing. Next was a guitar class. This was probably the only class I had a lot of interest in. But, time went by and school was out. As we walked out of the front entrance I was trying to figure out how I was going to get home.

“So do you get picked up or anything?” Jake asked.

“Actually, since we barely moved, my uncle’s been unpacking, so he might have forgotten about me. Do you have a car or anything?”

“I do. And if you’re asking for a ride home I’ll be glad to do it. I never have anything to do so it’s fine with me.”

“Thanks. I appreciate it a lot. Can you take me to the old repair shop down town? It’s Behind Sam’s Warehouse.”

“Sure. I live a block down from that Shop.”

“Well… I don’t want to be late. Where’s your car?”
