Chapter 3

I kept on walking-not a single motivation. The dirt and rock from the ground was messing up my shoes and the bottom of my jeans. I stared down at my feet and kicked the dirt and rocks and I walked.
God, why did you make me meet Candice before Sarah? I know it was meant to be me and Sarah. None of this mistaken deception would’ve happened. Take care of Sarah for me, please, she deserves the best.
I reached a gas station and walked in.
“Good evening to ya!” The cashier greeted.
“Hi. Um… You wouldn’t know if there were any cheap places to stay, would you?” I showed him my backpack, “I moved out.”
“Well, we have a back room back there which we never use. You could stay there. I’m mainly the only one who works here. I’m Shane Johnson.” He stuck out his hand.
“I’m Jesse Henderson.” We shook hands.  He got out from behind the counter and told me to follow him to the back room. A little small, but it isn’t THAT bad. A twin size bed, a side table with a small lamp, a small mirror, and a phone beside a small closet. Well, I‘m tired. I threw my stuff on the floor, unraveled the covers, got in and went to sleep.

“Hey, Shane, does the phone in the back room work?” I asked sipping a blue-raspberry slushy.
“Sure does. Really old though. Your free to use it as you please. No charge.” I smiled at his offer.
“Thanks. Hey, well I’m gonna go take a look around the city.”
“See ya,” Shane called. When I left he said, “Good kid.”

“STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!” I snapped quietly to myself. I walked around the alleyways of the city, “Now where am I?” I walked down some alley and saw someone at the end.
“Hey!” I called. They looked at me.
“’Sup?” It was a male. He was muscular, had cornrows, and was kind of tall-probably about 5’12”. I leaned in a little closer and lowered my voice.
“Are you… ‘Bizz Nass’?” I questioned.
“The one and only.” He said proudly.
“And you’re known to give ‘the goods’?”
“I got it all; watcha want?”
    “Hmm… Crystal meth.”
“Aiight. Come with me.” I followed him to his place about a mile away. We walked into a run-down place at the end of town. He turned around and showed me the room and I walked in. There was stuff everywhere. Smokes, pills, snorts, the whole lot.
“So, what was it that you wanted?” Bizz Nass asked looking through the shelves.
“Meth. I guess that should be it.” He pulled out a bag filled with what looked like sparkles and a short straw. He set it on the desk.
“Hey, wanna try it out before you take it home?” He asked.
“Yeah, sure. Hey, what’s your real name?”
“Mike. You’re Jess, huh?” I sat down and set some “crystals” in a line.
“Uh-huh.” I stuck the straw up my nose and snorted it up. My eyes ’bout popped out of my eyes. And there was a tingling feel in the bridge of my nose.
    “Huh?” He said proudly.
    “I’ll take it.”
